You burn extra calories for 12-24 hours after doing anything that raises your metabolic rate, it seems to be proportionate, so dance or aerobics will have more effect than weight training in the short term.
I'm with you on muscle burning more calories in the long term.
It is, but most of us just fit in what we can and any movement is better than none.
How much has your fat/muscle ratio changed?
i dont know jay as i have no way to measure it0 -

pick up heavy weights, put them down, pick them up, put them down
do this a few times
build muscle
lose fat at the same time
be able to eat more because you have more muscle
win win
You are not qualified to recommend this to anyone.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

you dont need qualifications to recommend exercise
unless you are a professional which you dont need to be to recommend exercise0 -

it is still the best thing for fat loss
the more muscle you have the more cals you burn at rest
you burn calories during and for hours after weight training, you may not burn as many cals during the weights as you do during cardio but after is as important as during
btw HIIT is the best cardio for fat loss
Funny how they don't focus on weights on Biggest Loser then.
HIT is best for improving fitness, not weightloss.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

HIIT is the best for FAT loss
you seem to have confused fat loss with weight loss, its not about what the scales say, its about body fat %0 -

You are recommending a specific type of exercise. That may not be suitable for everyone.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

Body fat/muscle/water/etc scales are apparently good for that.
Do you measure yourself with a tape measure? That would give you an idea if things are changing.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.

Err....hang on, who you callin' an unfit fattie???

I'll have you know, most of my calories are burned through the medium of my immense brain power. It needs fuel. Preferably in the form of pies. :whistle:0 -
