I didn't realise how competitive this would be....I'm already thinking of practising by myself when daughter goes back to school, just so I can whip her butt next time.

Is that very bad? :o:rotfl: < Don't care.

That doesn't sound too bad. It is very bad when you play by yourself and text picture messages of your super high scores with the caption "hahaha beat that" to your children when they are on their school lunchbreak.

Not that I have ever done anything like that before :A

boring maybe but the best thing for fat loss

Not if you're so bored by it you never do it again ;)
Best find exercise you enjoy and more likely to do again.

As I don't have a Wii, it would be cheaper to go for a run or.... just sit back on the sofa ;)

You could do what I do, on the ad breaks I run round seeing how much house work I can get done (including running up the stairs with clean washing). During at least half a programme I use a can of beans/peas as a weight and work on my arms. This works for me :o, only recently started doing this and lost an inch off my waist in 2 weeks. :j

Are you sure? Vigorous dancing uses around 2x the amount of calories per minute, compared to weight training. Then there's the effect of the ongoing raised metabolic rate for the next 12-24 hours.

I know weight lifting builds muscle, but so does weight bearing aerobic exercise. It does it less dramatically, I grant you.

Maybe it depends how much time you have available.

How much time do you spend weight training in an average week Tinks? I do about 90 mins aerobic exercise most days.

I got Dance Central last year and absolutely love it - it always puts a big smile on my face and I actually feel like I've done something rather than sit on my lardyarse.

Please post when you've done Zumba as I'm interested but don't want to spend the money incase it's naff.

No wii or Xbox? - try hula hooping with an adult weighted hoop (£14.95 self assembly from Tescos), only been doing it a week but it's strangely addictive and I found some lessons on you tube to help
