Lots of people arrived early and there were small q's maybe people should have realised that this or ANY racing event at Donington (especially when it's free) is not purely for them but that other's will attend also....... Just a thought.
I hope the people you are referring to are the police and the highways authorityI refuse to take responsibility for the M1 and A50 being gridlocked!

If everyone did that then it would just move the problem to 7.30 instead of 9-10 o clock. And some people had to travel for 2-4 hours to get there as well. I had a decent nights sleep, sat in some traffic for about an hour and a half and listened to some tunes and then saw all the events in the afternoon so I was happy.

I compared it to last year in my post where we left at the same time and didn't have to queue at all on either day and yet once in there this year it seemed no busier, in fact we could just walk through the tunnels to the middle of the track and I remember queuing for about 20 mins to get in the tunnel last year.

But yep you are right, it was my fault there were 2 accidents on the M1, the country's press were descending on EMA, they were directing all the traffic the same route to donington despite there being at least 3 ways, they gave away far too many tickets this year and that the car park attendants couldn't have mustered a brain cell between them. For all that, all I can do is apologise.

Travelled 2 hours ourselves got their on friday no traffic, no problems all weekend .... travel early or travel late to avoid problems its hardly rocket science is it.

Its the people with the 'I could not be bothered attitude' my comment was aimed at not people like yourself that actually enjoyed being stuck in traffic and knew that his would happen.

  • Just found out that from next year this event will be held at Silverstone.
Shame as I have enjoyed the last 2 years, however I guess the crowds out grew Donnington.

Don't even think it'll be a freebie this year
