Got back about Halfseven and got at the park for 7.30am
What a great day! Some things were delayed and was confusing at first
but it was great. Better than last year. Went round all the tents, Got a really good view(will post pictures and video's later)
I got a keyring(one of them £1 things) Ear Plugs, Neck Strap, Mini Radio and some other bits.
I bought a keyring from the Merch shop aswel!
Wish we could have sorted camping out and so on, but it was all a mess and no one organised enough to sort it all out!
Never mind!Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0 -
My god traffic was bad today, came from the north and sat at the circular exit from M1 for about an hour, A50 was at a total standstill when we got round so abandoned and went straight on, only for my satnav to tell me a dif way to donington round back and were there in 20 mins from there, heh. Good day but missed first few races cus of the delays. Definatly need to have some better traffic management for next year, wasn't anything like that last year. I think they just over-subscribed.0

I thought it was an awesome weekend! Especially the camping! Everyone was setting up on the Donnington camp site for free. It was a party atmosphere and we had a bonfire going all night with music coming from the cars of a few boy racers lol!
I have read a few posts about the traffic/ques and people suggesting it wasn't well organised. In my opinion the event was organised quite well and it was just a case of too many people trying to use the same roads. It seemed like they were doing all they could to ease the traffic though! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Normally about an hour and a half from Lincoln to Donnington. Today after an hours drive we queued for a further three hours. On the slip road off the A50 we were getting no where so gave up. Did Donnington talk to Leicestershire police about this event?0

we got there both days at 8.30 after 1 hour car journey 3 kids aged between 4 and seven no probs with traffic..........it wasn't as busy yesterday and we all loved it especially my kids we left before 3 each day and took back roads through villages so not to hit traffic and we had no probs I thought it was well organised and considering it was free I have nothing but praise for the organisers......took our own food and drinks and all told spent £3 sat on face painting and spent £5 today on 2 cars and a pen for kids........ £8 two days and 4 happy bunnies and 1 stress free mum at home The only thing it would have been nice if more than one simulator as I couldnt wait around with kids to go on it, if you plan properly a great weekend......... Been asked if ok for them to ring (market research) to get feedback i have agreed and i can only compliment event
Sorry to anyone who missed it though it was on t.v that traffic was hell0 -
Had a great day today. Apart from the 3 hours in a traffic jam, and i only live 10 minutes away. My brother set off with us, but went a different way and got there in 15 minutes!
Traffic is always a problem with Donnington, for any event! Getting out was fine, but there was just so many people coming from all directions to one point. There is no way you can manage that much traffic, along with M1 and airport traffic, without decreasing the ticket numbers.
But once we got in it was fantastic to see and hear the F1 car.0 -
I also went and it was brill, no problems with traffic and arrived at 0900hrs, stayed in Leicester overnight and found a back road;

Had a superb weekend. Got down to a nearby campsite on Friday evening. Took 10 mins on Saturday and Sunday Morning to get to the circuit. Saw 2 full days of racing and had a great time. Saw the crash and was relieved that they all walked away from it - bet they ache a bit this morning though. Great event - cant wait to go again next year.0

If the OP hasn't been nominated for post of the month, then they should be! We went up on the Sunday as had other commitments Saturday. Didn't spend too long in the queues around half an hour. I guess we just got lucky. My two young sons had a fab day as did we all. They loved the races and picked a colour each time, so they could cheers someone on. But it was also great as they could run around if they didn't want to watch too. Ok spent some money on lunch, but the prices weren't TOO bad.
At the end had a happy whole family, and two totally wasted son's one of whom was asleep before we even joined the queue to get out of the car park!
Absolutely fab day so well done OP:beer:  :T :TI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
