Hi - going a bit OT here but how do the ladies who use the reusable sanitary wear, or anyone else for that matter, feel about this (something I have just received an email from Bodyform about):
http://www.bodyform.co.uk/Pages/MarketActivities/Campaigns/Default.aspx?id=38940
I don't know if I am just being cynical, but perhaps these women just need access to clean water for washing and education rather than the added expense of buying Bodyform every month (I'm sure they are not going to get free ones for now and ever more).0 -

I am on the Depo injection and for me it is brillant although I know others have problems
Advantages
Obviously birth control
No periods
No PMS
Don't have the cost of protection
The only down side is if you haven't finished your family it can take a year to get periods and cycles back to normal.
Some of you might want to look into it
rsdisco's wife
I used to be on this and I cannot warn people enough about really investigating the Depo injection before going on it. I've done 2 stints on this and furst time I gained 2 stone. Doc said I must have been eating too much and not exercising... ok... 2-3 years later I was recommended to go on it again. WHAM 12 months in and I ballooned 6kg in 3months... total weight gain this time? 3 Stone through the 15 months in total I was on it before the doc pulled me me off it again finally believing me when I presented them with a food diary for 4 weeks.
Yes it was great in as far as I had no periods. But it can have some serious side-effects that you really really have to look into. And I don't count the doctor saying "low risk of a slight weight gain" - I don't call over 2 stone slight :eek:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Though some of you might be interested that I recieved my hagrag order on Saturday. Unfortunately I got whacked with a customs charge which is a real pain!
Skuld, the maker of hagrags is lovely enclosed a note saying she was sorry she had a slight delay sending the items (I didnt even notice one frankly, though postage took about 2 weeks) and so added some more items to the package. So I ended up with:
1 round mini (pantyliner) with sparkly stars/monkeys in space
1 diamond pantyliner with haloween prints
3 normal pads with a cake print, moody cow cartoon/stars and pirates
1 godess pad with blue stars and moons/punk fairies
Various length and thickness of inserts-5 in total I believe
1 little round pad for makeup etc (free sample)
A custom bag with seperate pockets for clean and dirty pads.
I think thats all of them, they are really cute and really well made and im very impressed. Without the customs charge I paid £25 for them but im very happy with what ive got. They are lovely and soft and have pressstuds which stop them moving around. They can be worn with either print upwards and having a little test drive feel ultra comfy though obviously a little bulkier than synthetic pads.
I would definately reccomend to pad users especially if you are fairly light.0 -

Yes, I agree with you, I would think that rather than giving £10 to give disposable sanpro to 1 woman for 1 year, it would be better to give the £10 towards a clean water system thich will mean ALL the women can properly wash disposable sanpro and the rest of the community can have the immeasurable benefits of clean water in their own village.0 -

Obviously this is a worthy cause but being tackled in the wrong way totally!
How is creating more waste within these villages going to help, many dont have a way of dealing with waste anyway and it is strewn along the streets causing disease. This kind of waste could increase disease in other forms.
Clean water is definately the way to go! Even learning how to boil them would be a start0 -

i agree, i would rather donate £10 towards providing clean water that would benefit the whole village, than give £10 to bodyform to provide one woman with towels for a year

Ah, homealone, those days are gone! However, if you use the pattern shape and a disposable that suits you to get the size, I would think it's worth making one as an experiment.0
