I cant get to grips with the mooncup even after well over 6 months of using it.I cant get it up far enough(must have little fingers),I always leak and it makes funny noises too!
Although I do try and use it on a night and when I`m in the house, but for work and out and about it`s back to tampax.
If anyone has any advice please pass it on.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -
Cant' believe I've never heard of the mooncup before!
I guess this is one of those topics people just don't talk about. This has been a really enlightening thread, thanks to all of you for sharing your most personal of experiences!
I'm fed up with tampons, and getting caught out with not having anything on me, and hate then just throwing them away for landfilling. Will definitely give this a go as a result of the info provided here and on the mooncup site.
Great for the planet, great for the pocket, I just hope I can get on with it OK.0 -

It might take a couple of "cycles" to get used to it, but I wouldn't use anything else now. It seems to make the bleeding lighter too (well it has for me!)0 -
This is my third month and I'd never go back either. Hazzie123 there is loads of advice on the mooncup website - really useful and reassuring.
If you use tampons at the moment the likelihood is you'll have less pain with a mooncup too.
I don't want to sound like a hippy but I have found the whole experience empowering - so much better than depending on big companies (who are not our friends!).0 -
I have had my mooncup for just over a year, and I absolutely love it. It's saved me a ton of money, a ton of landfill, and it makes me feel really in touch with my body to actually see the changes in what's coming out of me. I don't have to carry tampons and towels around with me, I can change it less frequently without risk of TSS, there are no chemicals or bleaches being absorbed into my body, I have much less cramping and, unlike tampons, it doesn't dry me out inside - tampons suck up every bit of moisture you produce, including the good stuff you want to keep!
I will never, ever go back to tampons or towels. If anyone thinks it's gross, they should give it a go - you are no more likely to get any blood on you than you are with tampons or towels. And get a grip and embrace your own body - there is nothing dirty about menstruation, and it's about time men and women got over our social programming to feel icky about it. I urge every woman to get a mooncup and liberate themselves!0 -

:T:T:T:T:T Well said. I completely agree with you. I feel totally liberated with mine, and will strongly encourage my daughters to try them when they are old enough.0 -
Just bought my first MoonCup and a bit scared as it seems HUGE! I bought size A as recommened by the questions on the box but was quite shocked when I got it out, will it really fit? I guess its probably not bigger than tampons it just seems larger. I'm due to have a coil fitted this week so wanted to get the mooncup as my periods will change and don't want to spend a fortune on tampax etc. I should have a period by the weekend so I'll give it a go but right now I'm a bit daunted, guess relaxing is the key as all these things are?!0

I bought a mooncup a while ago and I love it apart from on day 2 when I tend to be heaviest. Ive also been looking at the cloth pads as well but although I wanted to try them I was a bit apprehensive. You know, the , "What if I have an accident and need to go to the hospital, what will they think?" Stupid, I know. But there are obviously more people using them than I realised so maybe I'll give them a go.:T £2.00 coin saver number 059

i have never leaked with my KEEPER ( same thing as mooncup) even on heaviest days - and sometimes when i am at work - i have gone 6 hours without checking it or emptying it ( sorry squeamish peeps ) and even then ive been secure
