Personally I think the government should encourage women to use them and have the option, much as when you are pregnant they promote real nappies. It would be great if the government gave girls one through schools like we used to have the tampax lady who gave out samples.

So many women dont know the choices they have and education needs to be better.

if using a non applicator tampon, you are having to delve around 'up there' anyway :p

Sorry but that moon cup thing is gross - there is no way i would use that - but each to their own i guess!

People are surprisingly stuffy about this. If you use tampons you can use a mooncup - if you use washable nappies you can use washable towels.

I love my peeweez. I haven't 'needed' them for over a year now but I'm almost looking forward to having periods again so I can use them. They're sooo soft! ...I said 'almost' LOL It's never a fun time despite what the disposable manufacturers would have us believe!

There is a great thread somewhere. I'll look it out later and move this over so it can be merged.

    Well said :T

People get all funny about it without trying it! I thought I would give it a go about a year ago, and haven't looked back since. Have also saved SO much money on tampons!

the other thread is from the health and safety forum which I know is quiet, I wanted to post on here for the OSers as so many women are part of this community and I wanted to spread the word. After all it is the OS way before disposables! ;)

I went through the change when I was 40, but in the few years just before I had all sorts of problems with dry itchy skin & no I don't mean the skin on my face!!
In dessperation I cut up old towels & teashirts & made my own washables & I found them so much more comfortable.
