A mooncup is a cup that you put inside you like a tampon, but it collects the blood inside it so you can rinse it out - you boil it between periods to keep it clean. You can check them out at - http://www.mooncup.co.uk/
It may sound a bit gross at first, but they're surprisingly comfortable (way more so than tampons!), environmentally friendly, and you save a fortune on tampons/ pads

i dont understand why people get squeamish about washable pads/mooncups. if using a non applicator tampon, you are having to delve around 'up there' anyway
and most women have leaks at some time, when using non washables, so they are used to having to wash their knickers out, bleach overnite in the sink, etc., so dealing with the washable pads is no different.
again with cloth nappies, some people are like 'ooh no i couldnt touch poo'. but when potty training with a toddler, you must wash out at least a couple of pairs of pants a day, or clean up the trail across the living room carpet, as your child makes a run for the potty, but doesnt quite make it :rotfl:
at least with mooncups/pads its your own bodily functions you are dealing with

I paid £25 and have a good little set of pads to get along with and a custom made bag to keep them in too, the order has come from america and the designs I have coming are so cute and funky.
Would you mind saying which site you used? I've used washables for several years now and love them but the lady that I used to buy from has retired and I need another good supplier. The ones you bought sounded great.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £110.19/ £250
