Everyone is doing so well. I have nearly managed to live out of the freezer this week, and I am doing my daughters party myself - I am so nervous, I am doing a traditional party games and stuff to save some money, but I am scared stiff of children - what was I thinking:rotfl:(hysterics have set in)

Well, I am not going to even pay off half of my 19 odd grand... as my car needs another £800 spending on it. It had £500 worth 5 weeks ago............gutted. So I am now ebaying like mad as I have decided to trade it in... rather than pay more money on it.:mad:8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140

Trying hard............my car is now 12 years old. I spent 500 last year on the mot and 200 since christmas. The MOT is due in 2 weeks so I have decided if it fails and the price of fixing it is past X amount (that figure still to be determined :rotfl::rotfl:) then it's car heaven for my geraldine  I feel your painIn debt no more!0 -

:rotfl::rotfl: I did my daughter's party at home in November, 8 and 9 year olds, all lovely girls I thought! Well, they had those balloons up their tops (boobs and baby bumps), screeched so much we didn't finish all the games and complained about the home made cake and buns!!  I reckon you should definitely have some gin on hand for emergency purposes. :rotfl::rotfl:

Well I fell off the wagon (moneywise) yesterday and spent £50 on complete carp that I don't need and can't afford (can't take it back as already using it). This comes after several months of stress about DH's job and him overspending two months in a row - so obviously so-called 'comfort spending'. Like that's going to help the situation . In my defence, hey wait, I have no defence - it's just complete madness .
I'm going to have to pick myself up, dust myself down and soldier on in my attempts to bust my debts. Will have to pay my current account back with my weekly 'pocket money' and then not go near any shops by myself unless I'm in a rush (so I don't have time to spend anything other than what I went for). I'm so annoyed with myself after 3 and half months of being really careful. Only (slightly) bright side is that at least everything I bought was on special offer (I have learnt some things then) .... but that's not the point
.
Anyway onto other things:
Jemma - fyi there's an article on BBC website about online dating today. Hope your date goes/went OK.
Welcome to the thread newbies - I wish you great success.

Awwww hun, we all fall off the wagon every now and again (although the last time, I spent a £200+) the key is, like you say, to get straight back up and keep going. Just think of how proud you should be that you've gone from spending whenever you wanted to, to being careful for 3.5months before having a blip! That is fantastic and you can't ignore how proud you should be of that. :A
p.s. just having a look for the BBC article, thanks hun xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Internet dating seems to be going quite well, this guy seems really nice although I may be freaking him out with my "out there" questions such as what is your favourite fish! :rotfl: To be fair he asked me: jeans or skirt, I told him I would definitely prefer it if he wore jeans...:rotfl: He may run for the hills!!!! xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Wow Jemma I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that date...I can imagine some perculiar conversations. Why did you ask what his favourite fish is?
But I'm sure he has already realised you're lovely
just like we all have
