Spent all of yesterday afternoon reading through all of your posts (god, your a chatty bunch
)
I am feeling motivated and very inspired by all of you and wondered if i could join the challenge. I'm joining a little late in the game but i'm determined to be debt free by xmas.
I feel like i've always been in debt and blame the mass of preapproved credit cards i recieved through my door when i hit 18.........and obviously my old spending habits are also to blame.
I've already cut down as many bills as possible this week and will save lots of money as i stopped smoking last Friday. According to my Quitnow app, i've saved £29.58 so far!! Amazing to think how much money i've wasted over the years.
Anyway, i'm off to sort out some things for ebay. Going to write up all the descriptions etc and wait for the next free listing day.Money Owed: £431 OD, £2,870 CC, £486 CC, £2,025 Loan = £5,812£514/£5812

Thanks :j! I really feel that this challenge will help keep me on track and will be a great place to update any payments.
I'm aiming to clear the full amount £5,380! I dont get paid until the last day of the month so won't have any payments to update until then. Trying not to spend any money thats in my account so i can pay any thats left over at pay day to my Credit Card.
I've never felt so determined to clear all my debt, so thank you everyone as you've given me so much inspiration :TMoney Owed: £431 OD, £2,870 CC, £486 CC, £2,025 Loan = £5,812£514/£5812

Thank you... I have to admit it's mostly down to a PPI refund back in January though. Before that I was seriously struggling.
It sounds silly but my boyfriend says you have to keep a lucky penny in your purse or wallet. Since I started last year, I have found money coming in way more often.... ppi, share dividends, etc. Worth a tryBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

I feel really deflated! Gave my spreadsheet a bit of an overall last night, with statements coming out left right and centre, plus added the overpayment that I made to my cc to cover what I spent on food this week, and I've slipped back even further! So I have a new total, although I'm still aiming to hit my target of £5210.12 by xmas, it's just a bit annoying that I keep going backwards!

These things happen, trust meBut the difference is you are tackling your debts head-on so you are already in a much better position than you were before your lightbulb moment. Never lose faith in yourself and what you have achieved so far. :j

Silly work has goten in the way of me keeping up-to-date with all my DFW friends. There's loads to catch up on...just got to the good bit where Kerri visited her gorgeous nephew (10 weeks ALREADY?) and am mentally planning a shopping list to meet the requirement of Five a Day for my gang of vultures. As soon as I fill the fruit bowl up, they come and hoover it all up, then eat second portions for their dinner...I am so jealous of their metabolism! How long is it til OH returns? Any chance you could get a Bucketshop standby flight and visit him for a week?I'm not going out to Fredericton there's nothing there. It would be a little bit like going to Somerset, miles from anything and not a lot there
He's going about 9 weeks left now, which feels like forever. He's also just been offered a paid masters degree should he want to do a masters over there. It would mean spending 18 months out there, and I'm not sure our relationship would last through that as we've only been together for that long as it is. He's got a lot to think about with it, but says that it's a joint decision for both of us. I really want to tell him not to do it, but I know that that's selfish. So instead I'm researching UK masters degrees for him and trying to work out how we'd fund it. I've no idea how much they cost!!!
That's ok! :wave:
I hope you don't mind, but I have copied you (not the knickers thing) by paying a £1 off my Next card each day. Well today I'm actually going to pay £8 of the beauties off it!You've just reminded me I need to pay my daily £1 today
so off I go to do that now.
Welcome mrsnomoney and hello to everyone else, hope you're all enjoying the rain grrr.
