hmmmmmm obviously not having a good day. Our crazy cleaner has just walked through the main office where I was sat having a drink and asked me in front of everyone if I was pregnant or just had a beer belly... Talk about rude. I'm actually quite upset by it even though I know he's off his rocker and he likes to throw around potentially abusive comments just to get a rise out of people no matter what he says. I'm a size 12 and have always been proud of my flat stomach so I know he's talking rubbish to wind me up but it was still embarrassing and humiliating in front of everyone else. Worse still is that the comment has been escalated to the other managers to deal with as people were appalled by it so even more people will know about it and will be looking at me and sniggering. What a horrid man.

    *sniff sniff*

p.s. A massive welcome Avogirly, glad to have you on the team! I'll try my absolute hardest to do my updating tonight so will add you then. xxx

  • I'm so angry right now... the lettings agents from old house claim the kitchen worktop and sink unit need replacing due to a knife mark (about 1inch long) and a tiny little rust/burn mark on sink. They want to take £600 out of our deposit. I've written a stinking email back, and have asked for evidence that this warranted them being replaced.

They also wanted to charge £140 for the carpets not being cleaned when they were.

:eek: Oh Jemma, that's just awful!:eek: Definitely something to ignore. Get your mind back on the (hopefully) handsome stranger.

Kerri isn't it a bit early in the day to be talking about gussets? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I am getting really inspired by your makings, need to find a sewing machine. Thought of you when I was posting off my eBay parcels.

If this wasn't agreed on check out they haven't got a hope in hell. Bet they don't have a full photographed signed inventory too. If they try and take it from the deposit raise a claim. They no doubt have no leg to stand on.

  • Home from work where not a lot happened because of meetings and then IT taking my laptop away to look at it and make it faster :rotfl: I'll believe it when I see it.

Just had a 17 min phone call with H*lifax home insurance to confirm that no on had changed any details on my account (let said they had) just that they'd finally updated all correspondence to this address after the idiot in the store put it down as my parents address  Ah well found and 0800 number for them and used that to call so no phone charges for me HA :D

Time to go cheer the OH up for a little bit before making tea, yummy chicken pasta bake.

Neither of us were there on checkout. I'm pretty sure the new tenants have already moved in. They want to charge £140 for cleaning carpets too, which was done by housemates mum as she has a steam cleaner. I think they have 10 days to respond to me, after which I can go to dispute service if not satisfactorily. I've asked for the photos as stated on check out inventory and asked for evidence that the whole thing needed replacing as I'm pretty sure the 'damage' would be considered wear and tear by anyone else. The most annoying thing is I've got an assignment to write by tonight so now i can't concentrate on it as I'm so mad and wound up!

  • Jemma.... what a nasty little man!

I once went into boots to collect my cousins baby pack and the woman asked me when i was due! I don't have a flat stomach though it has to be said. She didn't even apologise!

you're doing the right things. If you're still worried go look at old threads in the "House buying/renting/selling" section there are LOADS where this sort of thing occurs and the general consensus is if there was no inventory saying they weren't there at the start and agreed that they were there at the end signed by both parties then there no chance of claiming.

Breathe, you've sent the request there's nothing more you can do so go focus on your assignment :)
