DH is making me laugh as he sits there and says things like 'now just because its all gone, doesnt mean we can go mad with the money' :rotfl: like it was me that ran it up in the first place :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sounds like something my hubby would say!

I've had a pretty rubbish time lately :( my Grandad passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer and it was really painful to see him towards the end.

So sorry to hear of your Grandad. My nanny died of cancer 4 years ago and it still makes me cry. Big hugs to you and your family.

Are we starting on Xmas day? We will allow a bit more living this year though...I have just read the December Debt Destruction thread and although it looks really harsh...it's how we've spent the whole year. It is hard but sooooooooo worth it though :)

Oooooooh will have to look at that thread....

Jemma I intend on wearing the heels at a wedding reception we're going to just after xmas. I have got a works xmas do to go to but partners aren't invited so I'll have no-one to hold onto :( so i'll probably just wear my normal shoes.

It's payday today yippieee!!!!! Haven't made any over payments yet, I'm a bit cautious to do it at the start of the month as last month it left us really short, however a few regular payments have already gone out.

I feel I'm starting to turn a corner! There's a few uncertainties this month - whether our old energy supplier will take the DD out on Monday as we've not yet had our final bill with them. Also the car insurance is due for renewal. There's some confusion with the current insurance provider over whether an inquiry regarding a chip in the windscreen is classed as a claim. Apparently, it's been down as a claim for over a year and we've since had to have the windscreen replaced as it failed the MOT, so now we have two claims on the windscreen which is pushing the cost up. I don't fully understand it, so luckily the OH is sorting it out.

Hello peeps, it's been ages since I've checked in and even longer since I posted. I have been in and out of hospital for the last month since a scan on Halloween day showed I had a large mass. Anyway this was removed last week and I'm now back home, I was weighed the night before surgery and again two days later and had 'lost' 10 kg - 22lbs! The surgeons are hopeful that it was caught in time but I will get the official results in a couple of weeks. I can't tell you what a nightmare it's been, I have definatley looked death in the face and it's not nice, but I've learnt that we need to tell our loved one's that we love them because no one knows what's round the corner. Feeling quite emotional -sorry.
Anyway it seems a little irrelevant now but we will be debt free at midnight, when our last DD payment goes out to NR.

Well done J-M and all the other df's and keep going everyone else you can do it :)

:A:A:A:A:A:A I cannot even comprehend what a nightmare this has been for you and your family. I wish we could all give you big proper bear hugs and not just the virtual ones but I'm afraid these are the best we can do! We are always here for you lemonpopsicle. I'll keep EVERYTHING crossed for you that the results come back good. If it makes you feel any better, my mum had a large growth and they decided to do a full histerectomy (sp?) to be sure and we're about 7 years down the line and she's fine.

I'm so proud that you've achieved your debt freedom whilst going through something so horrible. I know it pales into insignificance in the shadow of something like this but at least it's one less thing to worry about. xxx

:T:T:T It's a fabulous feeling getting rid of that overdraft!!! I think it's even better than getting rid of a credit card. I guess it depends what your demon has been, I bet we've all had one particular debt that has been a noose around our necks and makes us shudder when we think of it.

Anyway, you've come a hell of a long way Loubie and I'm super proud of you xxx

Lemonpop, huge hugs for the horrible month and huge congratulations for being debt free. You were my inspiration anyway after our chat about moving to the country a few weeks ago but now even more so. Well done :T:T

I have just had a pleasant surprise, DH has been paid for his extra work so my OD has been reduced to £300, since I keep that in there for DDs late in the month I will leave the OD limit at £300 which will leave me in credit or at £0 for most of the month and so we can move onto the next one (Joint OD of £5k ) so:
