Hey everyone! Well done on all your payments and especially Parsnip for that whopping ppi rebate!!!
I've been so fed up in the last week or so. My job gets ridiculously busy Oct-Dec and this year is no exception! This week is going to be horrendous... Plus, joining the gym has been laughable. Since I joined I've been dizzy or had a horrid cold or recently I've been feeling sick with a dodgy tummy. Not amused after all the money I've paid and now it's only 6 weeks from my xmas do... I'm just fed up to be honest. I want to get out of my parents house but it will take at least another 12-18months...
Jemma, get out of your pity pit!!!!! New week, new start! My one goal this week is to be more positive xxx Sorry everyone, I tend to just dissappear when I'm feeling down xxx
Sorry to hear you are feeling crap! It was a god send when I gave up my stressful job I'm now really relaxed and I know it's easier said than done but I hope you can feel better soon
My payment is month is trying to get me to 50% before christmas is:
# 4 £5560/13678
2 months and 2 paydays left before the end of the year so going to divide them into what I need to pay to get me to 50%In debt no more!0 -
Hello
I've been off work for a week so haven't checked in for a while. Looks like there's been lots of good news. Well done to all that are still working away at those debts
DH finally received his HMRC cheque. It was £300 less that expected so I guess he must have underpaid through his PAYE in other ways (probably in relation to tips/mid-year payrise). Unfortunatlely (sort of!) we used a chunk of the money this week to treat ourselves to a fancy dinner and b&b stay, plus the car needed service, tax, MOT and new tyres all at onceI ususally have this staggered but just got a bit out of hand and there wasn't enough in the car pot to cover is (about £160 short
)
He also went overdrawn (i.e. over the overdraft) again this month. I tried to talk to him and as usual he just wouldn't engage and  started playing with his phone. I went to bed in a mood and then got really upset when he decided to put the washing machine on (ok - normally a good thing but it was 1am!!) Next afternoon (didn't see him in the morning as was up early to go out) he apologised for keeping me up and I plucked up the courage to confront him and say that it wasn't the washing that I was upset about but the fact that he doesn't seem to acknowledge how hard I work at managing our finances and what trouble it causes every time I have to juggle things to subsidise his overspends, and how it's extra frustrating that he doesn't even seem to know what he spends the money on!!
BUT...
He listened, acknowledged and apologised :j:A I'm so proud of him for taking that step at least. I don't think it's quite his LBM but I thanked him for engaging in the conversation and am hoping that he might start to pay a bit more attention in the future (fingers crossed!!!)
Anyway, I will shortly be checking accounts and spreadsheets to see the damage that a week off has done and will update shortly.

Afternoon all, I've finally got round to filing my tax return
another loss to report for my very small business, but it did work out that the tax man shall be giving me some pennies. I have no idea when this will be though.
On another note, Thursday I was called out to work on a customer, so I get paid for standby plus the 10hrs I worked. Friday I was on standby plus the 5hrs I worked for them overnight. Saturday I worked 18hrs including travel to get to their site. Sunday I worked 1hr. So that's some more pennies towards the debt at least
So in total that's 15hrs at time, and 19hrs at time & a half, which should be another couple of hundred off the debtIn two days time I'll see how much I can reduce the debt by this month, should be a nice payment for overtime in there and then next month I should have tax return plus overtime making over £1000 to pay off. Hmm...if I am very good I might almost be debt free by christmas then, wouldn't that be nice!

Kerri you are so close now, :j:j:j I bet that would be such a nice feeling.
I am dreading doing my tax return, I need some help, where do I start??!
Jemma these things can't be helped. it must be very frustrating but you wouldn't want to make yourself more ill by pushing yourself at the gym. Look forward not behind, you have come really far and look at all of the people on this thread who you have also helped by making that step :T
I know I am not going to be Debt free by Xmas, but I am definitely heading the right way and this forum helps me so much to keep focused and positive.

God I need to start again too, I'm sure my debt has increased overall  but I HAVE paid off nearly all my rent arreas and I have been paying off the high interest debts first so its costing me less to be in debt I suppose
