  • Hello Everyone.

I have been very naughty this month. :(

Added too much to my credit card. Way too much. Had a week off work: a couple of nights away for our 1st wedding annivesary, shopping, haircut, night out. Fun at the time but gutted now.

I guess sometimes it just gets to me, when you realise, for example, you havent had your haircut for a year.

Now working on a "get out of debt in 10 months" plan lol.

    Will update totals on payday.:(
    Total Debt: 1383/ £8121

Aiming to clear 50% by Xmas 2012 :j

I was very brave today, I gave my credit card to my OH and told him to hide it before the limit increases and I spend it all. He did ask why I didn't just ask them to not increase it, but I like the idea of it being a safety net incase we ever need to buy anything expensive on the internet.

Tell me about it - haven't had my hair cut since August last year! I think hubby's getting fed up with it because yesterday he said he might book me in at the hairdressers. I'm not too bothered about it though as really I dread the hairdressers like most people dread the dentists(but actually I don't mind the dentists!)

Hubby's pay day today, but I'll let him sort the payments out later so no update yet. He got bonus this month so we've got an extra £100 yay!!!:j:j:j: Great as it's going to a tough month. One of his buy now pay later things with littlewoods is coming to an end so we need to pay £400 for that so we don't get stung with 30 odd percent interest, so our debt won't go down very much this month, but at least we won't be adding to it.

Oooh and I got the mirror yesterday so will be doing my shopping at Aldi tomorrow. I've got a list of everything I need from the sainsburys live well for less meal planner - costs £50.51 with the other bits I've added so hopefully I can get most of it at lidl, spending less and get a fiver knocked off :rotfl: Happy days :)

Oooh forgot to say I switched my Gas & Electric to First Utility the other day, fixed until March 2014. According to the comparison we should save £55 a year!:money: Then, guess what? Received our bill from npower saying they want to up our payments to £109 a month (up by £20)!

So glad I did it when I did.

Congrats NCTmum!! I actually have application forms for PPI to send to Egg as I'm sure I had it. When you applied with the PPI complaint form did you remember your account number etc?

Sorry for the late reply, I have been eating cake since!

I had my settlement letter, which had a reference number on, which I photocopied and attached, but I wasn't sure it was my actual account number. I think as long as you supply the other info, you may be ok.

Oh congratulations! Hubby phoned them up yesterday to chase his cheque up as it's been a month since we've heard anything. Apparently as they've sent out all these letters to customers who had PPI (and stupidly sent them at the same time) they now a back log of claims and subsequent issuing of cheques :(. He's only getting £65 but it all helps!

Hubby's payday tomorrow but I've still got to wait another week for mine

As you say, it all helps, and its his money x

  • My first multi quote :rotfl:took me two attempts:rotfl:

Well had Barclaycard bill today and made a massive payment of £556.89.

I had quite a lot of spends on it :eek::eek::eek::eek:

This now makes me DEBT FREE:beer:

In a bit of a quandry (sp) can I declare my origional debt of £1947.90 cleared or can I add all the spends that I have had on it for the yr on top of that? If yes then I am declaring £3344.52 and debt free as of 19th October 2012. Paid it early evening but went out and didn;t have time to post.

I have put the two older posts on to see if this makes sense Jemma.

Let me know Jemma but we are away for 6 days from tomorrow so will check the debt free roll of honour when I get back.

Thanks for everyone's support on here and a huge thanks for Jemma for running the challenge.

I won't be going anywhere except for my hols as I want to find out how everyone is doing. Yay :T:T:T:T:T

    Well done!!! :j:beer:

    Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The children were killing themselves as I was waving the cheque in the air in the garden and jumping - big mistake as had an ill fitting bra on.

I am so relieved as Egg said they were upholding my complaint, then it took them 4 months to send the cheque when they promised 3 weeks. I've emailed them twice, emailed the CEO of European operations, their FSA registered head of complaints, plus tried to get through to them on the phone, and they ignored everything. And then it arrived:beer:

    Massive update coming soon xxx

    That's great news :j!

was down to 3 last debts the first one, cabot, told me that i owe £89.66, so that will be paid off next week :j:j:j

the 2nd, both with moorcroft, on one account they owed me £184 overpayment :j:beer::T, so will be sending me a cheque as they cannot take it off my 3rd and last one and that is down to just over £400....

  • Well I've paid a feeble £14 minimum payment off our debt today:

    #278 £2347/£5364

CBA to get my calculator to check % but it's probably the same as last month i.e. 43%.

At least next month, I'll be opening my sealed pot and will be using that towards debt payments so I will be able to make a bigger payment then. And the month after that, our loan finishes so from Jan, I'll be able to pay a bit more. Just as well as at a rate of £14 a month, it would take quite a long time to pay the debt off ;).

Well done to all those who've been making debt payments :A - you're doing so well!
