    Hi Everybody,

Thanks to SpagBol, Mrs Addicted to Spending, jakes-mum, lemonpopsicle, kerri-dfw, Linzight, mum of 2 plus oh, psychopathbabble and mf0u1098 for your good wishes and kind words. Daughter and Grandson finally came home on Tuesday, 3 weeks and a day after he was born. It's great that they are now so close, I can drop by for a cuddle on my way home from work :smileyhea

On the debt thrashing front, I still haven't made any additional payments so the only thing to belatedly report is the usual Santander dd payment at the beginning of the month. Fingers crossed that when I do finally get chance to sit down and look through the finances that there's a nice little chunk sitting waiting to be allocated to Bank of Mum & Dad, one good thing about being really busy is that I'm also too busy spend it ;)

Jemma-you look fab...the piccie on your Avatar makes me think that you need a good steak dinner (a 24oz steak at least) - I used to be that sylph-like ...when I was 11 years old!
Fallenwiccan-I really admire how upbeat and organised you are in the face of your DH's redundancy. The hammer has dropped at my DH's job too-he is out at the end of Nov...just as I start Mat Leave and I'm not feeling v brave tbh. I'm trying to squirrel away some money for the mortgage/Emergency Fund etc...it is such a pain not having any money!

    Hi All,

I would love to take part in this challenge-for part of my debt anyway.

I have recently gone back to work after staying at home with my four year old DD. I am a single parent and I am determined to get back on my own two feet.

I hate the weight of debt on my shoulders and can't wait to be rid of it.

When I accomplish that, my main goal is to stop throwing money down the drain on rent and have a little home of our own, for my little family of two :) Ps- Naive I Know!! lol

Welcome Miss FW, this is a really good thread and you'll get really good support. Give Jemma your figures and she'll give you a number when she sees this.

Kerfuffle glad your GS is well and home and available for cuddles:) wish I could come over and claim one!:rotfl:

Canucks sorry to hear about your DH's Job. You are doing the right thing by forward planning and saving up but don't forget to take care of yourself :) How many weeks are you now?

Thank you lovely, well done on getting yourself prepared. Think how much difference you'll feel as you're debt free now compared to even just a few months ago. I know I desperately need to up our savings amounts and crack down. OH got a call yesterday asking how much notice he would need to give on his current job which must be a good sign so fingers crossed we won't need to depend completely on my wage.

Up bright an early with the sun this morning. Going to try on my ebay ball gown to see if it still fits before my company function in a month. Hopefully won't need to lose any weight. Think I may head into Newcastle today as tomorrow will be a write off because of the Great North Run. Too much disruption to the roads.

Hello all, :wave:haven't posted for a long while, have had quite a challenging few months (husband out of work twice and taking a big pay cut). Back on track now, not going to hit my target but have kept up the minimum payments so it is creeping down slowly

Hello all, not posted for a long while! A long summer of being ill and not saving quite as much. Still poorly now, but have put £500 aside for my tenants' deposit (which always used to get spent!) and paid down some more debt. I now have a credit card bill to go and that's it! Feels good now to have got past paying the ex back so that money saved knocks off MY debt, if you know what I mean. Also am in the black in my bank account for first time in YEARS which feels really good! :) I keep looking at it on my phone and marvelling at the plus sign...!

    £4,278.57 to go...

    BNS

ps looking forward to catching up with people on here and seeing how everyone is doing.
Debt paid off: £19,999 Debt remaining: NONE!!:money::eek::):j:j:j:j:j:j
