First of many payments of the DF by Xmas! And had a look at the OH and mines first flat last night. Hopefully will get it as we are getting quite cramped living in one room. I know I should wait till all debt is paid off but it is on a 0% CC with another year left so we should manage :)

    #360 £20.15/£1513.12 :j
  • Although I'm within touching distance of being debt free, it's possible I may be moving from my parent's place by the end of September, so will need to hang on till September's pay packet to finish off the last credit card.

I'm keeping back a few hundred in case I need to pay a deposit for a flat before September payday, but September 20th is definitely my debt-free day.
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.

I went shopping today with Mr S for work clothes for him... ended up spending £40 in TK@XX on a red teapot and a mahoosive frying/sauce pan type thing to cook spag bol for 8 people in on monday plus £110 on clothes (Mr S also spent £68 on clothes for me!) :o Considering I'm losing weight that prob wasn't the best idea, but they are lovely clothes :D Sorry if I'm rambling a bit, consumed mucho alcohol with dinner with friends of Mr S's :p

Had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday but luckily ended on a positive. i'd decided that i "deserved" a nice indian takeaway but i stopped to think about it. why is something that will sabotage my weightloss and my debtloss journeys a treat???? I'll only feel fatter and more guilty spending £10 on a fatty curry so why do i want it??? So i went to the Co op and bought a 290 calorie wrap instead for £2.60! I really need to get the right mindset if i'm going to get down to my goal weight by dec as well as my debtloss goal.

today i'm going helping my friend paint as she's just bought her first house and got the keys yesterday and is redecorating. could be fun!

    Xxx

This is a very good point, I will tell myself this next time I fancy a takeaway,to be fair we have only had about 3 takeaways this year but it does feel a bit like we are missing out. Thinking like this will help :A

I received a £30 Mr S giftcard yesterday for getting insurance with them, that will offset some shopping costs :)

Also a very small DD went out so now total is:

    #084 £11,892 / £58,000 20.50%

I went shopping yesterday and spent best part of £100! On myself! Got carried away in Debs sale. Before that I had only purchased 1 pair of trousers and 3 tops all year. I have now got 2 pairs of trousers (needed cos I have put on so much weight I am struggling to look decent when I go back to school next week), 1 top, 1 pair slippers (not had any for about 6 months), some underwear and a nightie (pyjamas developed holes through constant wear lol).
So you can see my justification thought processes. Usually my strategies of a) never going to shops or b) mantra of "there will always be lovely things in the shops to buy so you can wait until you have money" keep me safe from spendiness. Sigh.
Still I am enjoying my purchases - as long as I don't go back in a shop until December I think I can live with my lapse :rotfl:
Thanks to you all for holding me back all the other times :T

I have not been able to update in a while. My laptop has broken and I'm waiting for my husband to sort out the hard drive so I can get my spreadsheet of it. Feeling extremely lost without it. I hope it gets sorted out quickly.
On the hairy dieters front, we have made the pies and the chicken korma and would highly recommend both.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with an update. Although I've overspent quite a lot on holiday so I'm quite worried about where we stand.

Some good news though, because I got my mam £8000 back in PPI she bought me a new iPad.

Have you been watching the hairy bikers? They've just done this series were they are trying to loose weight and the last one I watched they did a lovely looking chicken korma which came out at about 400 calories with the rice. They also did a sweet & sour chicken dish but I forget how many calories that had. Both looked scrummy!

I made the skinny beef lasagne yesterday. Not bad actually, but must admit not a patch on my homemade lasagne!! But as my lasagne is incredibly calorific (damn that cheese!) and I'm trying to lose weight, I shan't be making it for a while. Think I might treat myself to the hairy dieters cook book. Really cheap on the book people website.
Quite liked the look of the masala coated chicken and the Korea though!

We have, thank the lord, a Clarks outlet shop fairly near us. All the shoes are just last year's styles (which is irrelevant for school shoes as they are the same styles every year anyway) and are still properly fitted etc, just half price. Last shoe shop I did before it opened -£202 (Clarks -3 pairs school shoes, 3 pairs trainers.) This summer - DD's shoes £12 (half price and then reduced again), DS#1's shoes £24 (would have been £48 full price as he's now adult size) and DS#2's £22. Trainers for the younger 2 only £15 each. £88 plus £19.99 for DS#1's trainers at sports Direct.

Def. looking and seeing if there's an outlet near you, be well worth the fuel money to get there!

Edit: just seen you're in Cambridge. Our Clarks outlet is in Spalding, at Springfields outlet village, so do-able.
