Thanks Spag Bol. I can't afford to pay either one off by Xmas unfortunately  but I'll definitely look and see what deals they have.

I'm so useless with money that I just don't know what will be best - whichever way I do things, we just seem to end up in an endless cycle of debt :o. I'm just wanna be free of it :D.

    Amen to that :A

To be fair, I am really tetchy too so maybe that's why I don't think you were overreacting :rotfl::rotfl: No only kidding, they were being unreasonable by anyone's standards!

J-M you're not overreacting, the little b8gger was very sneaky - horrible in a child.
Am I allowed to be a proud mummy? My DS1 got his Gcse results today and he got 3 A*, 4 As, 1 B, 1C and 98 points in his ICT (apparently = to an A and a B). He was very disappointed with the B which was in Biology because he got 98% in the actual exam but only a D in the coursework. His other Science coursework's were 100% and 95%. I think he is going to ask for a remark of the coursework (which costs £150 ). When I discussed it with his best mate who got 8A* :D the first thing he said was that the teacher didn't like DS and she was the one marking the coursework  We probably wouldn't bother but DS wants to be a doctor and Biology is pretty important :o
Anyway payday tomorrow so new figs to declare,

  • Yeah, J-M, we could be pregnancy buddies if you had another one! No, dont throw that frying pan at me! Cooo-eee Kerri, welcome back. Got any challenges for us? All this Welsh chat frm you and Tir makes me pine for Wales-went to school in N Wales as a kid :0)
Spag this is just a blip...you have achieved sooo much.
Thx for the kind words Jemma. When will you be made an auntie? DH still hasn't received his Notice from work, but some of his more junior colleagues have. He is applying for everything and anything in the job world at the moment.
Fritter, I am doing the opposite to you. I have just managed to switch the rest of my shifts to permanent nights. My poor auld hips can't cope with the 12 hr days any longer. I am now at the halfway mark-yay! It's not too late for you to pop over and get a bit of Canadian experience and deliver one VIP baby! ;) Actually I am still sticking to my guns and requesting a Section this time.
I too have picked up the crochet hook again. I need a lot if bedrest at the mo and this helps counteract the boredom. I can't even follow a pattern. I just used a YouTube tutorial on how to make a granny square and kept going round and round to make an afghan-all in the biggest loudest primary colours I could find!
BTW people here are still talking about the Olympics-Britain should be v v proud of itself!

  • They are great results Lemon. Sounds like it would be worthwhile spending that £150...Grrr for an unreasonable teacher!

Hi Canucksfan, oooh a challenge.... well the OH and I have been doing one this week....we each pick 3 meals each that we want to make from a recipe book or off the top of our heads. We write it on a piece of paper, then we have a meal-plan (but it's from our R1ver C0ttage book so they're posh). We get one "emergency pizza" day, which is a freezer pizza costing about £2-£3 for when one of us can't be bothered to cook. We eat fresh food each day, and it tastes lush :) if we run out of something it goes on the whiteboard and we don't go to the shops until the end of the week (except when sir runs out of milk! but even then no naughty extras thank you). This is week 1 and it's going quite well so far, we get a veg box fortnightly and it seems to have lasted well too.

I know, when he spoke to the Head of Science today she said that it seemed a bit odd which I suppose is a start. I'm hoping that the school might start an ''Enquiries About Results'' process because it says in the info that ''the centre (school) may have already highlighted the result as needing one of the EAR services'' and I'm presuming in that case we wouldn't have to pay - very MSE :o

Fab results - well done to your son ! Hopefully the school will pay if they think there's an issue, as you say, but if they don't, I would definitely pay the £150 to get the coursework checked (). Then you'll feel you've at least done everything you can.

Grr Psycho, thats so rubbish and a bit out of order on the side of the owner as though it was a win, I assume the whole point of the competition was to drum up more business and she wont get repeat business or recommedations speaking to you like that!

Kerri, a little smile came to my lips as I read that :D I love feeding DH humble pie and its just as much fun to watch someone else do it to theirs :rotfl:

and just to end on a total downer :D My little lad starts secondary school in 1 1/2 weeks  and my angel starts school in 2 1/2 weeks! *cries* my babies dont need me anymore *polishes empty nest* :rotfl:

They'll definitely still need you - mine are 16 and 12 and still need me :D!

This is a good idea Kerri - will try this one although it's easier this week as DH is off.
