  • Hi all, I got paid yesterday, but unfortunately have only been able to pay off my credit card so far. My fixed rate mortgage deal is due to finish at the end of the month and I have had to pay most of the new mortgage fees up front which has cleared me out so have been putting a lot of spends on the credit card- boo!
Still it is now paid off and will not be touched this month ( I promise!!)
I have some overtime money coming next week and a few more shifts booked over the next few weeks so all that money is going to be used to pay off my overdraft (my last debt) with no exceptions! As soon as I get paid I am going to reduce the limit straight away, so it can't be frittered away on everyday spends.
As I have said before, September is a new beginning for me and it also means that I'm going to attack this bloody overdraft with some gusto if it kills me! X
    LBM 14th Oct 2011 TOTAL DEBT £8500  £8500/£8500 (100%) paid)

    Hi everyone,

I've been a bit disheartened with this challenge recently as it didn't look like I would make it by Xmas, I still might not but I've made some good progress in the last month - payday was today so here are my latest figures:

    #281: £4,821.66/£7,735.45 (62%)
    And weight loss challenge: 13/15kg

I've been awol lately as I'm finding it difficult to stay on top of everything at the moment so have been pulling back from my online activities.

  • I'm not going to make it by end 2012 either so I'll join all the DFX13 crowd!

Well done to all those who've made debt payments today . I have too, but only £20 as that's all I can afford this month. It's only the min payment and I still need to get my hands on £213 to pay for stuff on Visa (car insurance more than budgeted due to DH's job change, now travelling 82 miles a day just to get to work ) so that I don't have to add to the debt - never mind paying any of it off :(. Still my new totals are:

    £2319/5364 (43%)

I now think that we will be in debt until I finish Uni and can get a job which will be this time next year. So maybe I'll be debt free by xmas 2013 - if nothing goes wrong between now and then.

Still the good news is that youngest DS's feet have not grown so I don't have to buy new shoes or trainers, just boot laces to replace his old ones :).

Had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday but luckily ended on a positive. i'd decided that i "deserved" a nice indian takeaway but i stopped to think about it. why is something that will sabotage my weightloss and my debtloss journeys a treat???? I'll only feel fatter and more guilty spending £10 on a fatty curry so why do i want it??? So i went to the Co op and bought a 290 calorie wrap instead for £2.60! I really need to get the right mindset if i'm going to get down to my goal weight by dec as well as my debtloss goal.

today i'm going helping my friend paint as she's just bought her first house and got the keys yesterday and is redecorating. could be fun!

I've signed back up to fat club as I'm now heavier than when I started this challenge! You are definitely right, we have been taught that treating ourselves means eating fatty foods but how is that any good to us? I do actually enjoy fruit salads and stuff more, but we aren't trained to think like that :)

Have you been watching the hairy bikers? They've just done this series were they are trying to loose weight and the last one I watched they did a lovely looking chicken korma which came out at about 400 calories with the rice. They also did a sweet & sour chicken dish but I forget how many calories that had. Both looked scrummy!

<is not reading the posts about diets whilst scoffing a large bag of revels honest!>

Well I have had a good day, I made some sales of my purses =) I've sold 3 clasp purses at £5.99 each, 1 phone sleeve for £4.99, and one zipped purse for £4.99. Feeling really happy with that hence the revels.

Other half tried to be MSE today by using up leftover veg....he made beetroot soup, which at very, very red put me off it straight away. I ate half a bowl and decided it wasn't for me. Well at least we tried. I'm fleabaying tonight, whilst he's round a mates playing records :)
