Tomorrow is the last day of a tough 3 weeks at work covering for someone on holiday. I've booked Monday and Tuesday off so should be able to relax over the weekend. I'm planning on climbing Snowdon on Monday and then I have to go to Liverpool on Tuesday with my parents...

Good news from these last 3 weeks is that I've been visiting our other site twice a day so I'm owed £110 in expenses! I haven't managed to look at my finances yet to see how I'm doing but I've started collecting £2 coins again and I've got over £20 so far!!!

I've got quite a lot of catching up/updating to do so see you in a bit! xxx

Poor Choclover, you sound exactly like me 6 months ago. Speak to Jakes-Mum-she has a very nice selection of cast iron cookware that she lends out to good friends to be used against the head of dim partners who hv not yet had their lightbulb moment x

  • Totally empathise... clothes all over the floor in the bedroom - are they clean or dirty?! I don't know!! Asked to pick up about 7 times but no luck. I DO the washing, fold it and ask him to put away so he knows where he's put stuff and clean clothes have been on couch in living room for over 2 weeks - then they inevitably end up unfolded and just in a pile.

Recently asked can he just LOAD the dishwasher after I spend time cooking? *without me asking - I know, CRAZY request isn't it?!* Asking is BORING for me!!

Mess is SO depressing it's unreal. I work the same as him and regulary think I can't live in this sh*thole. Nobody can EVER drop round and if they did, I wouldn't let them in! I do so much, but can't keep on top of mess for 2 grown adults and have a FT job. It's stressful and exhausting. Imagine adding kids to the equation - hahaha!

I know what you mean. When I had children I couldn't cope with everything in the house and work - I got depression, panic attacks and IBS so I took voluntary redundancy and gave up my job. Now my house is nice but only because I do it all. That's why when I finish my degree next year and get a job, my DH has been given strict instructions that he's got to change, otherwise I'll just give up work again (and we will be skint again ). We will see.

Well it's payday today, I've paid £400 off the CC but my totals remain the same. Ooh, I'm annoyed with myself for having spent on the CC this month

Big, big shop tonight, hoping to spend less than £100. Need to replenish the fridge and freezer but hoping that, for once, I can stick to my weekly budget. Now, now, there's no need to all laugh at me...I might actually manage it for a change :D

I managed to stick to my budget this week for the first time in about 4 years! Just hoping that we don't need to do any top-up shopping until next weekend, although we do need to get some nappies for dd1, but i should be able to pay cash for those.

In a way, I'm glad to hear it's not just me who struggles with BFs messiness. He's not horrendously bad but I don't understand why it's so difficult to take cerial bowl back to the kitchen after breakfast when we only live in a 2 bed flat! Maybe men and women just are totally different species...

On debt news, paid bit of extra off today as had some survey money waiting in my account. Now I just wish I'd paid £7 extra and I'd be 70% paid off, instead it's 69.7%!

    #277 £1825/£2607 70%

Edited as just had to get to 70% so another £7 paid. :D

grrr I got lulled in by my daughters beseeching eyes beside the bakery in Mr T this morning and bought a pack of 6 croissants for her and her dad to have for lunch today  99% of the time im not suckered in by the fake smell and know to usher Little Miss past it at top speed but today, due to DH and his increadibly slow walk she had me for the princely sum of £1.50 :o

Looks like I might be going over budget this week as only have £6.90 of the weekly £50 budget left and still need to 'buy' a chicken for sunday dinner from my 2nd purse!

I notice a rather severe increase in my trips to the shops since DH gave up work on tuesday  being unable to get out of our little town on my own was doing wonders for our budget, now iv got a chauffeur with ants in his pants my shopping costs are rocketing :o
