  • On topic of messy men! He came in drunk last night and I ended up not getting any sleep after 3am! Eventually gave up after the snoring didn't stop and got up... to find most of a pint of water on the floor, on laptop chargers and plugs and a lamp. A whole new level of laziness - not to mention danger!

Sorry it's a bit late coming but I want to say a big thank you to everyone who gave me a boost over my job woes. I did read them at the time but it's been pretty busy here since.

The good news is that our HR manager (who happens to be a friend) let me know 'off the record' that I will be getting a bonus/pay rise but that it will be a month late as my boss is away. The payrise will be back dated. I guess it's a bit cheeky to ask for interest on the bonus, right?! :rotfl: (Jokes aside, going by what was implied that I would get, that would be over £100 in lost credit card interest ) Ah well, I'm grateful to be getting anything.

Well done to all of you who've been busy making payments. I'm still not quite back in the swing of things and have already forgotten when most of my bills are due after just 3-4 months of not paying attention. It's scary really.

Sympathy to all those will messy OHs. DH generally does all the laundry for both of us (he has to do a load for his work clothes every 2 days anyway). The rest of the house tends to fall on me but I'm not the tidiest person anyway :o I go through phases where I'm completely anal about how things have to be, and have strict routines for all the chores. Then I get behind and think "stuff it" and it takes me ages to find the motivation again :rotfl::o:o

It's the weekend!!! Hope everyone has things to look forward to :D xxx

    Got to love peoples assumptions!

We had loads of beers left over from a charity event so the bosses agreed to let the office share them this afternoon. I opted for a can of diet coke. Therefore....I must be pregnant!!!!! Just married female that doesn't want to drink on the job and/or doesn't like beer - it's a foregone conclusion :rotfl::rotfl:

I transferred the Barclaycard and the Halifax balances to First Direct and was left with £293.50 to clear as I didn't have enough limit on the First Direct card. So new totals are:

Hmmm...so much for shopping with a budget in mind. Went £30 over! Mind you, I bought enough loo roll and cleaning stuff to last til Xmas as Mr A had some decent deals on. Also bought more meat than I need for this week which will fill the freezer so maybe not as bad as it looks on the receipt.

Also spent £47 in B00ts at lunchtime as I had a "600 advantage points if you spend over £40" voucher so stocked up on toiletries, should see me through to Xmas too. Saved £37 on all my multibuy/half price deals :)

    Have a good weekend xx
  • Hello again and well done to those who've have been making debt payments .

DH got paid today early for some reason - what a shame ;). The good news is that after last month's fiasco with his new job and new salary/tax code issues, he's been paid a decent amount - only £100 down on his last job's monthly salary. Let's hope it remains this amount next month too. Shame the petrol costs have gone up from £60 a month to £60 a week .

I have therefore reworked our debt plan based on the new finances and the bit of overdraft that we seem to have got despite mega careful budgeting (I'm sure there are gremlins somewhere at the bank :D). We've paid £275 off our debt this month but our overall debts have gone up so our new figures are:

    #278 £2299/£5364 (43%)

So not particularly brilliant as figure was at 45% paid before, but it can't be helped. I've worked out we'll be paying this debt off until May 2013, so I'll still be here on the thread with all those others who can't pay their debts off by Dec 2012 :o.

    :beer::beer::beer::beer:

Another pay day yesterday and guess what the final payment on my personal loan. I don't think I can remember ever getting a loan to completion before, I usually just ended up rolling it into another.

So also another payment off the M&S Visa card and one of hubbies Personal loan too, it's in joint names to get it through but it was for his credit cards.

Loving logging on and seeing 0.00 :D

I've done the snowball calculator and I should be able to pay of the card in 9 months at my normal rate but if I can get some stuff on fleabay hopefully I can reduce this. Paying off all my debts by Christmas actually seems achieveable. My main focus is to ensure I don't get into any more which is always soooo tempting but I will resist.

So I declare my figure at :j£12513.95 :jPAID OFF
