The "Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2012" challenge - PART 3!!!

recurrent-ostrich - :j to the Summer '13 holiday plans, they sound great, and the fact that you're doing something other than initially planned and still getting a holiday is briilliant. It just shows what we can do when we step back and have another think about the situation. No penance required for this, you did good :T
Mrs A-2-S - Great holiday plans too, and fantastic price for what will be 4 days away in total. :T happy to hear that you're excited as it's something to look forward to, and that's always a good thing.his_missus wrote: »
kerfuffle - bus fares round here are loopy. Driver said a return would cost me £6 but an all day rider would cost £4. Why have a £6 ticket in the first place?
his-missus - Probably because they're being naughty and fleecing the unsuspecting who don't ask for different options and just ask for a return ticket.:mad:My dad told me this morning that one of my front tyres was now illegal and the other was on the limit so had to fork out for 2 new tyres this morning before work at £163...!
Oh well, it's Friday and the end of a monstrous week at work!!!! I was so good last night though, I took my mum to the Furniture Village at the Trafford Centre to get bedding etc for the spare room that they've done up. I saw a GORGEOUS bedding set (£140!!!) and curtains and lamps and shiny things.... I was soooooooooooo tempted but I kept saying to myself that I didn't NEED anything and it would feel far better once I buy them when I'm debt free. I put them all back and bought a book instead for £6.99 reduced from £20 so I think that's a good result!
I'm so chuffed for Ashleighsalem and everyone else who is still motoring on with paying off their debts! Well done peeps, I am so proud of you all!!! It doesn't matter if you finish the challenge this month, next month, by Xmas or even a year or so from now. Just keep working at it and never forget how much you deserve to be debt free. This isn't supposed to be a challenge where you don't have treats or go on holidays, it's hopefully changing people's view of money and how they spend it. You need to still have a life but it's making small compromises and making sure that treats are just that and not the norm. I think what you guys are doing is brilliant and you keep me motivated every day!!! xxx
Gemma - To the 163.00 GBpounds, but some spends are unavoidable and safety (and good nutrition) always comes first. You redeemed yourself anyway (not that you needed to) by not spending in Furniture Village, and you could always keep an eye on the bedding, curtains, lamps and shiny things and see if they come on sale.
Great sentiments at the end of the post. My payments to Santander are automatically being paid each and every month and no extra effort is required, but by just coming here everyday it keeps me motivated to find extra to pay BoM&D rather than just having the attitude of 'it's only Mum and Dad, they won't mind, they'll understand'.
Here's to putting a monstrous week behind you, and having an awesome weekend.:D
cj75 - :T Well done for making a payment, it doesn't matter how small it is, as his-missus says, it's going in the right direction. Be proud of what you've paid, even the smallest amount is not to be sniffed at.
Jakes-Mum - Don't worry about the rant, if coming here and ranting lowers your blood pressure then feel free to do it anytime.0 -
Welcome back Helenpie, congrats on the wedding

Well done Jake :j:j My DS also had a glowing report with all level 3s at the end of yr2 :T:T:T:T Very proud of him because he's had some trouble this year with his allergies and health and I've been all over the shop with different jobs and money troubles. I can't really say this in real life as I don't want to be accused of boasting by other people with kids and my family don't understand NC levels so you've had to put up with it on here :rotfl:
So the last DD until payday went out today to give a new total:
