  • Hi you don't have to bow out of the thread because you won't clear your debt by Xmas - quite a lot of us won't either. However, if you don't feel you can stay, then best of luck with paying debt off next year :).

Absolutely. Our debt free date isn't until 2015, but I've just set a target of £10K to clear by Christmas this year. I'm hoping someone will do another challenge for 2013, and 2014, and 2015! :rotfl:

That's the spirit! Life throws all sorts of rubbish at us, the most important thing is that we don't just chuck money away like we would have done pre-LBM. ;)

Actually, can I claim some Brownie points to offset the whole "booking a holiday" thing this week? I got my usual Next sale VIP invitation this week. Normally I'd go online and spend £3,4,500 plus without even blinking on clothes for me, hubby and the kids and house stuff that we don't need, just because it's half price. This time I've not booked a slot and haven't spent a penny at all! :j:j

Brilliant! If you can clear 50% by Christmas then you are half way to being debt free :j.

:A:A that's so good! I didn't go to the sale either even though my friends were going. Mind you they were going at 5am  and so the incentive wasn't quite so great. I've definitely figured that if I stay out of the shops, I won't spend as much ... :rotfl:. I am the 'queen of the obvious' this morning.
