*****Joining in the Rants*****
This is actually a rant from Friday, but I was too confused to write then and managed to keep a clear head all weekend but being back at work has brought it all up again for me
Still no news since being told not to expect a bonus or the payrise I was told I would get last year but even worse than that, there's been a lot of restructuring since I went off for wedding/honeymoon and on Friday afternoon I got told to start winding down my work and that my role was going to change. I'm the only person in my department (a department that is very necessary under regulation).
Worse than that, they have reassured me that they "think I'm very bright" and will still have a job, they just don't know what that job will be! I'm already on my 4th role within 4 years for this firm through being accommodating to their needs (new company) but had just started to get this one really well established. I told them I don't want a pity job - I want to do a role because they need it filled and I'm the best person for it.
Needless to say, any one of the jobs they've plucked out of the air as ideas so far should be paying about the same if not more than for the role I'm already doing, but I'm already £15k under market rate and can bet I wont get a fraction of that coming my way. And only one of the suggestions is something that I would be remotely interested in doing. Up until now, all of my role changes have been fairly natural progressions.
The upsetting thing is that because I've been so accommodating and moved around until now, I can't really communicate my skills very well on a CV to go elsewhere. It's all very well saying that I've moved because I'm capable of doing any one of jobs A-E but my CV just looks like a string of 4 failed roles
My manager is now on holiday for 2 weeks, I've been told I wont hear more for 6-8 weeks and it's really difficult to concentrate on the job at hand now because I'm thinking too much about this.
Sad Helen

I agree with his missus, you will have lot of skills here so you could make a cracking cv if you wanted to move. I think that your company is taking you for a ride though and you need to stand firm cos they seem to be messing you about hun. You deserve to be treated far better than this! :AHugs to all this morning, for those with work issues, I dont have alot of advice I can give (been out of the rat race too long I think!) so I will just send you an extra big <<<<HUG>>>>
Well what a depressing weekendhave spent most of it trying to tactfully tell DH he needs to lose weight (this is what the dr's are going to say thursday) whilst trying to make sure he understands his weight doesnt actually bother me in the slightest I just worry about his health and with all his ankle issues, his symptoms would ease if he lost some of the extra
We also had to have the 'what if I have to go off sick too' convo which was basically me trying to explain the financial implications and him saying he would be going up the wall within a week!
It all got worse when we went to cambridge and I had to give him my mobility scooter and go borrow one from the shopping centre as he couldnt walk any more after 50 mtrs even with crutches and then a walking stick we bought
I have rung and ordered a DLA pack for him now as im certain he comes under the HRM, he cant even get up without unbelievable pain and has to wear his shoes constantly or his feet cannot take his weightwe are now looking at changing my car to a van with 2 rows of seats so we can fit two scooters in the boot
I really do think theres someone up there who watches me, sees im getting somewhere with the finances and goes 'ummm nuh uh young lady! heres a nice big spanner for you . . . enjoy!'
My dad often says the same thing, he seems to think he's Truman and Ed Harris is out to get him!
Are you ok? xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Ahh im fineits my poor old DH that im worried about as hes in so much pain bless him
part of me wants him to just pack work in and say sod it to the bills, you'll get paid when I can pay you, the other half knows that if he gives up working he will be even more depressed, eat even more food, put on more weight and be in more pain! Plus its all the forms im going to have to fill in to change over/apply for all the benefits . . it takes me a week (and leaves me feeling rediculously ill) just to do my own ESA form
Bit worried as for some reason the HMRC have just written to DH and said they have told his agency to put him on 20% tax  and I know he hasnt earnt enough this month to pay the bills going out of his account
EDIT: just spoke to mum and she gently reminded me that 20% is basic rateseriously, its been a looooooong time since I did accounts

Well done everyone so far with debt busting! I have a shed full of [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] treasure to take to a car boot sale but the weather is so bad that the sales are being cancelled every week.
Had our annual review with the DMP people and we have agreed to pay out a bit more and then be debt free in 19 months instead of 24. So hopefully it will be Jan/Feb 2014.:j
I have got a lot of working coming in for Sept - Dec term time so again looking positive there.
On the downside I have to have a biopsy on Wed and then 3-4 month wait for the operations & skin grafts for my eyeI am hoping it will all be over by Christmas and then start 2013 on a more positive footing.

HelenPie: Def apply for new jobs. Just start looking and apply for ones you think you might like before it hits the fan at your present job and you need to find one pronto.

Well I nearly fell out of my chair, not only have they taken only a week to make their decision, they have renewed my claim, left me in the support group and I dont need re-assessing for two years
I am so used to having to fill those darned forms in 10 months and have had to do the appeals process before, im just gobsmackedSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

I understand you must be feeling quite negative about it all but, if you do consider changing jobs, your CV can reflect all these things positively. Lots of companies now want people who show flexibilty, skills in many areas, reliabilty...you sound like you have all of these and more x
I agree with this HelenPie - I know you must be feeling very insecure and low as you don't know what you will be doing and everything keeps changing  and I don't blame you. However, you've stayed with the same company for those roles and so that does actually show stability and loyalty as well as flexibility - you were prepared to go where you were needed with the company and that's not a bad thing as far as a CV is concerned, as long as you market it right.

At least this is some good news. Sorry to hear about your DH though - perhaps the visit to the doctor will persuade him to try and lose weight?
KissyKissyKaren41 - well done for being so close to paying your debt off :j.

Good news about your ESA Jakes-mum. Good luck with your OH.
Waves to everyone.
I had my first day back at work yesterday after my maternity leave. Although the shift wasn't too bad I came home in floods of tears as I feel so guilty leaving the kids. I know the money is useful but I just feel really bad for going back to work. Ive got a day off today so trying to regroup myself a little bit ready for my shift tomorrow. DD is poorly too so off school. At least I get to spend some time with her even if it is cwtched up on the settee watching toy story 2!
Anyway DH had some pay from some extra work he did which went straight to the c/c making our total now
