    Morning alll!

Had to get the bus to work this morning. Think !!!!!! Turpin has upgraded from horse to bus, it's costing me £5.50 return to travel a 10 mile round trip! No wonder people don't use public transport anymore. Bet it wouldn't cost that much to do the journey in a car (all things considered) especially if there's more than one of you in the car. it would cost £11 a day for me and DH to commute to work, daylight robbery

On a cheerier note, I manged to hang out 2 loads of washing today as it's sunny, no damp washing loitering on the upstairs landing for a change :D

Hi, I've been a bit AWOL but have managed to read up to page 118. I had a viral illness that lasted up to 3 weeks, busy time at work as students were taking exams, & just to add things at home were busy. Now on 9 days hol, on day 4 now. Plans to tidy home & sort money. One bill now completely paid, which is BoD. :-)

Well done to all that have paid off bills. I will now update my figures until fully sorted money.

So far #165 paid £483, doen't seem much but think I calculated wrong in 1st place. However will be declaring another bill, but need sort money/letters before doing so.

Forgot to add also sold another 2 used bras on the bay, so thats now 3 sold on there. Wouldn't have listed them if not been reading this forum so would like say thanks to those who had the discussion about selling bras :-)

I've also joined WW, 12 wks courtesy of the docs, and so far have lost 6lb in 2 weeks :-) Not gone down a dress size yet, but someone has complimented that my face looks slimmer. Think it's coming off the places where don't notice so much. DH has said he thinks my bum has shrunk a bit, and I also think poss bit off my back (near bra) and bit off the tyre above the belly :-)

    Hi everyone,

I'm another who has been AWOL for a few days. Last week was busy with kids finishing school etc. DD won a prize at school on the last day & both kids reports were FAB so I am a happy mummy. We went to London at the weekend so that was fairly spendy, but TBH I wanted to treat the kids as we're not on our hols til October. They are now at MIL's til Saturday so thats saved me a weeks childcare costs.

I've paid another £750 towards my holiday so my new totals are :

    £9885.20/£16779.81 58.91%

I honestly feel like a massive weight is lifting from us :D, but I must be careful not to relax too much & start spending.

Hugs to all who need them

    Ruth

Kerri where are you? We want an update on Canada !

No payments to report but our accountant has sent our figures to the tax peeps and we are due a £600 rebate :j Does anyone know how long these take to arrive? :D

Well done with getting a tax rebate, sorry, I've no idea how long they take, fingers crossed you get it before Christmas :rotfl:In November I sent off a claim for a refund for laundering work uniforms, today I'm sending a follow up letter as other than an acknowledgement I haven't heard anything.
Lol - I would if I could but I can't even afford my own payments at the moment :rotfl:. Great that you've only got 5 more payments left tho!

Mrs A-2-S, Well thanks for the thought ;) . I wish I only had 5 payments, unfortunately it's only 5 more for this debt, once this is finished I'll be increasing the repayments to Bank of Mum and Dad :o

Congratulations Helenpie on your wedding, good wishes for your future together.

Jakes-Mum, Spag Bol and Ruthy1604, Congratulations and happy pride in abundance for your young 'uns getting great grades, glowing reports and winning prizes :T The end of the school year is like childbirth, by the time you get to the end of it the relief is so immense you forget how bad the rest of it was :rotfl:, and then September comes around again :D.

cj75 - Enjoy the remaining 5 days holiday, I have to say though I'm disappointed that it's taken til day 4 to come visit us, you must have a life or something :p :rotfl:. Well done with the weight loss and the bra sales.

his-missus - Those bus prices are daylight robbery. Back in't day I used to get off a stop earlier to save 5p, that would be about 20p in today's money, even then it bugged me that such a short distance could cost so much. Washing/weatherwise, today I did 2 wash loads, and even though it's glorious sunshine and perfect drying weather I ended up drying them in the dryer  Why? Because of the *$#^&% mozzies  I'm currently recovering from the 9 bites I got on Sunday, I didn't want any more _pale_ :(

Well I suppose I'd better shake a six and make a move - as my Dad would say :D, I have a dental appointment today :(

    Have a good day everybody.:)

ETA: My 'g' key is being a bit tempremental, is you notice one missing, just ignore it. Thanks.

Kerfuffle - I did walk 2 bus stops further thinking it might reduce the cost but alas no. The silver day rider is cheaper than a normal return apparently and I can use it all day (not that I have any plans to do anymore than the journey to and then back home from work)

What's really annoying is I've been looking into bus fares as I'm sure I used to buy a £4 day ticket and guess what? If I'd caught the less direct bus that goes round the houses from the stop round the corner, I could've bought a £4 ticket. It's the same company at the end of the day, the buses just have different names and the cheaper bus just takes slightly longer

So tomorrow, I will leave home 5 mins earlier and spend 10 more mins on bus in order to save myself £1.50 :p If only I'd goooogled it last night, could've saved myself £1.50 ;)

    Hi everybody :wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

Have been AWOL for a good wee while, have still been reading the thread but not been posting much- life has been a bit crazy!

Crazy life has meant that debt has kind of taken a back seat :( Our wedding is now only 6 weeks away and we have been paying for so much that our debt has actually got way bigger (like Helenpie!- congratulations BTW!!!) but I am counting is separately from the original debt- think it is the only way I can keep myself sane!

We get paid tomorrow so am thinking that we make a real effort to keep down expenses and try to make a little extra cash through ebay to chuck towards the debt. That's what we were doing when we first started on here so am going to list some things tonight :D We have so much that we can sell on ebay and I just need to get on with it and sell them!!!

Anyways, just wanted to come on, say hi to everybody and declare my totals so I can start getting back into the swing of things and get rid of this horrible debt!

    Evening everyone!

Had a lovely afternoon at the beach! And it got us thinking we would be crazy to spend £2k on a holiday when 1. we can't really afford it 2. we'd rather pay that money off our debts 3. we only live 10 miles from the beach so why would we pay £2k to go to another one? 4. If we're only going to the beach on holiday and cooking ourselves, what's the difference?

Ok the weather isn't as good or guaranteed, but at least it won't be too hot. PLUS we can split the holiday up and maybe book into a hotel somewhere for a night or two for a change of scenery.

I can't see us spending anywhere near £2k doing it this way and we can always go on holiday abroad when the debts paid off and the kids are older.

his-missus - Great plan :T At least you only made the trip once before you realised you could make a saving.

dd81 - Good to see you here again, and so close to your wedding you must be pretty busy, and excited of course.:)

choclover - What a lovely positive post :D. Pleased to hear you've had a nice time at the beach, lucky you for living so close to the sea. I love your points 1-4 and have to agree with you on every one.

ashleighsalem - Great total. I'm guessing your next payment will be your last? :j
