I still have to finish bedroom. I keep finding things that need moving. I haven't even started tea yet!!!! I still have to vacuum bedroom and stairs!!! I did manage to dismantle drawers and reassemble them in the loft. The kids have moved some of their games into the aforementioned drawers so I have an empty book shelf (where the games had been left!!!!-that is a first, me having an empty shelf.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Haven't dared show my face on here for a bit as I sadly fell sideways on the de-cluttering side of things.
Well, today I made a good start...........and OH actually cleared out his books -just mine to do now.
Sifted through Dads bits and pieces and picked out a few for my son so condensed two shoe boxes of bits into one.
So, I'm getting there.................very slow its been but I think I'm on the way:jMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi everyone
It's half term and I'm back to decluttering. I suffer from chronic fatigue so when I'm working I don't get much done on the weekends, so I try and do a full throttle in the holidays. We'd like the spare room decorated by the end of the week, but have lots of decluttering to do first!! I've set my days out for errands in the morning and decluttering in the afternoon. Most of the stuff is boxed up so I'm bringing a box at a time into the living room and sitting there with a DVD and a cuppa and going through a box at a time. Already done some shredding, have a pile of paper to go down for recycling and a bag of rubbish!

Hi all & congrats Dobs:j I'm hoping my tum will shrink soon as well - only been 12 years! Forget the decluttering for a bit and enjoy the little one, time enough for decluttering when barbie/action man (hint hint any clues??!!) become redundant.
had a tidying up day today, lots of washing & ironing. Managed to change our bed, washed, dried on line, aired and back on bed for tonight - summer must be on the way! Did clear out the porch, not too much gone but spare coats sent to wardrobes, ditto spare shoes, still to go OH's 5 pairs of boots  and that doesn't include the pair he was wearing! He has promised to be rational about it tomorrow. He better had or I'll be rational about it with a bin bag!
DD's back to school tomorrow.:T Except perhaps for DD2 who managed to knock the heavy wooden lid of a blanket box down onto her arm today. Seems OK but its left a lovely red mark down her arm and it's very painful so I can see me having to take her to x-ray just in case if things aren't better in the morning. How comes whenever you manage to creep ahead something happens to pull you back behind again? She's used that box (stores their lego) for 8 years without a problem and then she goes for it big time.
Strange thing happened when sorting some of the photos, there was one of me, from when we were fairly newly together making Xmas dinner - steaks, chips, mushrooms, egg, tomatoes etc (people were appalled - what no turkey! - but it was a treat for us) I'm looking just like someone who spent the night before in the pub (felt ok but the photo showed otherwise:D ) and OH looked at it and said "weren't things simpler then?" and we just looked at each other. Because he hit the nail on the head - yes they were. not that we didn't struggle we did, we had next to no furniture etc. But we saved up and went to the auction house and waited until we found what we wanted. And it wasn't simpler because we didn't have DD's or the pressure of work we have now or anything else I can think of - it just was simpler. It's been going round and round in my head all day and I can't quite put my finger on what made it simpler except for the fact that we had plans and ambitions and time. We knew more or less what we wanted but we also knew we weren't going to have it in a hurry so we waited until we found just what we wanted or until we could afford it. We bought groceries for the week not the month, oh I could go on and on but mostly we didn't have stuff! Everything we had was precious and loved or at least needed. I've got a house full of stuff and it doesn't feel nearly as good as when I had a little cottage full of hand me downs and dreams. I don't know how I'm going to do it but I want to get back to that person in the photo, admittedly without the hairdo and shirt!, but back to where I had space & time to live in and think in and enjoy just being alive.
Gosh sorry folks getting very deep again:o , perhaps I'm decluttering my head as well! - time for bed I think.0 -

Still not got the vacuuming done, but I have uncluttered a shelf in the kitchen and taken the shelf down. I have got 2 bin bags of rubbish out of my bedroom and the kitchen. A carrier bag full of stuff to be shredded tomorrow. Done 2 loads of washing and sorted some filing out. I've (tidily) put some more stuff in the loft tonight-like proper loft ladders that have been lingering downstairs for ages!!!! as well as some craft stuff and some christmas cards-I had 6 boxes of them on the bookcase in the office end of the kitchen!!! I'm very tired now, but have just got to empty and reload dishwasher before I trot up to bed!!! goodnight all-hopfully i will get vacuuming done tomorrow-tuesday!!;) and I still haven't checked my lottery ticket from saturday yet!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043
