Hi everyone, well done on the hard work this weekend!
I had to really rush to get my stuff on ebay this evening, but I managed to put 31 more things on making a current total of 73 onI will be taking a break from ebay after this lot!
Furrypig, warm welcome to the thread! My son's DVDs have done quite well on ebay lately, I start them at 99p.
Sandy2, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have digital copies of music tracks when you don't own the CD? I doubt I'll find I miss any of them anyway, I hardly ever listen to music these days
Well done peeps, keep posting your progress!0 -
Hi all
I've been decluttering in small chunks over the last year or so. However, am going to get back into it properly again now! I've probably not got as much stuff to sort as a lot of you on here, but it needs doing none the less.
Have started today by joining Freecycle & offering my DD's steraliser (which I found lurking in the cupboard!!) Will also be offering an old pushchair and various other bits & bobs. Am taking some of my son's toys to my Aunt's - for her new grandson. I know I could sell them on ebay, but I'd rather give them to friends/family!!
Need to get back into Ebay at some point...but can't face it just yet:rolleyes: ! Did sell loads last year when I was on maternity leave but now don't feel I've got enough time!!
Anyhow..just thought I'd say hello!! Haven't had chance to catch up on all the thread, but it seems everyone's doing a great job!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

PHEW...
200 bricks later... we have double the amount of attic space ..
I have had 3 binbags from DD1's room so far and not finished yet.
I have flung out a small cupboard.. and a monitor.
a bnbag of rubbish frommy room has gone.. and a huge stack of jam jars has been added to the shed so I have a bit more space in my pan cupboard so my cake storage things fit in the cupboard now.. and cleared the hob.
I found the bottles of gel noone uses and took them to charity shop.. half a shelf cleared..
I added my stray lush bits to the huge gold lush hatbox.. cleared a few more bits of packaging.
I also have 6 things with bids on ebay.. £12.50 so far but another week to run.. and I have some more items I need to add.
I have 2 beds which are going on freecycle as soon as I've got the new bunk beds up.

Hi everyone - I'm new to this thread and have tried to read most of it - everyone mentions selling on Ebay but I have tried and recently have really struggled to make the sales - maybe I am starting and ending the listings on the wrong day - does anyone have opinions/experiences of good and bad days to end auctions?
I think Thursday must be a bad day as that's the day Ebay often does freebies on - as if they want to encourage more use of Thursdays.....0 -
My Oh runs his own business and sells on ebay regularly, we list things to start and finish most days/time... But auctions we tend to start and finish in an evening-it varies really, as far as I am aware there are no hard and fast rules as to some days being better than others because it varies from week to week. Take today for example, some sundays we don't sell much, but today has been really good. That said we do tend to have alot of things on buy it now, so you can start and finish them any day of the week. It depends what is for sale at the time too of course, I have been selling some odds and sods lately and done really well, there have been other occasions when stuff I have lisdted hasn't gone. I have listed 1 particular item 3 times-it went on the 3rd time. No doubt someone else will be along shortly to share their knowledge/experience. I hope I have helped in some way.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I watched this for a while and done some. Five boxes to a charity shop and I sold some at a car boot.
But now I have to tackle the wardrobe:o I'm a hopless case, I really am:o
At the right hand size, clothes from before I was married, size 8, working along the row to now, 24 years later, size 22:o I told you I was a hopless case:o
But you see one day, when I get slim they will all fit again and I wont need to buy new ones:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Umm 24 years = 1984:D Simon Le Bon Bon, Spandex Ballet etc. That is no incentive to diet!!!!!!
Be strong - I've been diving in wardrobe picking one item to wear & one to bin - 9lb so far!!! Including the jumper with half an ostrich around the neck:o
IT's hard to begin with (and to end with!) but hang in there, slowly you'll getmore ruthless - says she who asked how much the visiting hamster weighed!:rolleyes:0 -
Asset I list most days and set things to finish between 7 and 8 at night, if you use Auctiva, the scheduling is free
If you list something on a Thursay on 10 days, it will finish on a Sunday, and it will be listed over 2 weekends, which theoretically means more people will see it.
Hope this helps
Missyg are you sure you are going to givve Ebay a rest, once you get used to all that lovely money you might find you are hooked
I sold lots over the weekend, but as they are postcards, they haven't made much of a hole, but did make over £100 :jYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
My daughters school are fundraising using Bag2School who pay 30p per kilo (£300 per tonne) for used clothing, shoes, bags, belts etc. I figured I'd have a few things that could go to them. So I did a bit of forraging.
End of day 1. 24 bin bags full. Yes you did read that right! From a house of 4 people. Had to stop when I ran out of bin bags. Hubby (aged 38) has parted with his old school uniform and his scout uniform and god knows how many pairs of trousers from 1980 with a waist 6 inches or more too small. Whilst on a roll I ventured into the loft. Probably a major mistake. We don't use the loft as hubby doesn't like to horde things unnecessarily (really he doesn't). Discovered that the previous occupants of the house had left nasty faded velour curtains, net curtains, bedding, clothing and lots more stuff up there. None of its in a fit state to give to the charity shop but since Bag2school aren't at all choosy they're getting the lot. On average 8 kg per bag so worth £60 to school funds and I don't have the hassle of trying to get parked vaguely near a charity shop.
Decided over the school holidays I'll do a bedroom a day. Started with my youngests by emptying the entire room into the bathroom. Currently the only bit of clear space upstairs. Have moved all the furniture. Dusted the entire room, washed the window and the floor. Shes now amazed at how big her room is and has set up her train set in the middle of the floor. We've played dress up and have got rid of 50% of her clothing as it no longer fits. Books and toys next. The eldest meanwhile is managing to sleep through all this!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Clothes from the 1980s sell really well on Ebay, stick them in the Vintage section. I've sold the most disgusting items which were all the rage then, I think it's the Emo revival thing.0
