Hi Emptypurse. I've not tackled the loft yet and as for the garden shed................. still, start with babysteps and it 'll get done. decided some stuff just HAD to go so now have 2 books to return to their owner and 5 to donateto charity shop. DS2 has about 12 playstation games to take to shop and sell."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Welcome Empty Purse - such a sense of achievement getting rid of stuff......least thats what I've found.
Problem at the minute - 7 bin bags of clothes in one of the bedrooms OH now wants shifting as he's decided (at last) to slosh some much needed paint on the walls ! He says he'll shove them all in the back bedroom but honest, its full of stuff for my christmas and birthday hampers !!!Mary

I daren't go anywhere near the loft.. not only does it contain spiders but I'd get lost!!! I'm finding it hard enough emptying the house!!
I never had much luck in Amazon.. I never got enough to post the items I was selling.. I'm sticking with ebay.. I have loads of knitting books to shift though.. so may give it another whirl!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I came into my office 2 hours ago to have a good clear out, inspired by this thread. So far, I've filled half a black sack and I've spent the rest of the time reading stuff on MSE!
We all do it:rotfl:0 -
Have managed to shove some christmas/birthday basket stuff into wardrobe in spare room so OH can store bin bags in there............be glad when they're collected now out of the way.
On a bright note.............insurance are sending us a cheque so at least, the 'building site' room will be no more...............it'll be transformed into a proper sort of room with paint on the walls and all sorts of shelves and oh I'm so excited....................need to clear that out some more as well................lol
Thought we''d done it but there's still stuff lurking that I spotted.
Even OH's excited and that ain't like him !
Oh, must ring the builder tell him, see how long before he can do it !!:jMary

Hi Guys,
Been a while since I posted on here.
Anyway, got rid of 2 bin bags to the charity shop yesterday so it's a start!
Going to list my larger "pick up only" things on Ebay on Thursday which should create room in one of the sheds. Things like the Little Tikes Kitchen and Cozy Coupe (my youngest is 9 next week!!) That should free up quite a bit of space.
Now does anyone know re the 5p Ebay day if you must offer payment by Paypal please? I know before it has been in their T&Cs on cheap listings day but obviously for large items it will be cash on collection for me.
Thanks.
Keep up the good work! :TAgeing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Good luck pigpen :j
Just phoned ex foster girls sister and they're collecting bin bags on Thursday morning............along with typewriter, the two books no-one wants and a playstation 1 steering wheel thing we had given us ages ago...........wonder what else I can find lurking about they can have...............trouble is, can't get in the spare room to have a look now as OH has put all the bin bags in there and I can't get in !!!
Wonder if I'll get the chance to delve into the built in cupboard in our bedroom tomorrow...........might be stuff in there that can go.........bound to be........................yes.........tomorrows task...........built in cupboard to be cleared of c**p (except my sons stuff -that wouldn't be fair )
Oh and there's the drawer at the top end of our bed...........I know there's some stuff there my son did at art college but I wonder what else ???
Oooer..........all this is getting a bit exciting..............:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Clearing out is almost as addictive as collecting the stuff in the first place..............lolMary
