Aug Grocery Challenge £2000 -
Not just me who hangs on to carrier bags and boxes then............lol
I always tend to hang on to boxes if I think they'll be a 'useful' size for christmas presents but somehow a box that a tele was delivered in doesnt fit that category does it................lol
I'm that pleased.............neighbours daughter just came in to use computer for homework and remarked how 'tidy' comp room is..............:jMary

EBAY 5p LISTING ON THURSDAY 1ST MAY!!!............
OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, all six bags went to the charity shop today. I still have loads more to get rid of. And we've now decided not to move, so it's not so urgent to get shot of it all......but I must stay strong and keep the momentum going!!!0 -
its been a nothing in nothing out day. except for food which we ate for dinner so I dont suppose it counts.
and not at all related but a good idea, someone told me that if you get a set of bedding, ie quilt cover, pillowcases and sheet all together, put the lot into one of the pillow cases, then when you change the bed a matching and/or complete set of bedding is all ready to hand."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
washing clothes. do we wash too much? i mean if its only been warn for a little while then a cold rinse without powder should suffice. especially if you use eco balls."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Not sure I could get my king-size duvet cover/double fittedsheet/3 pillowcases all into the 4th pillowcase though.0 -

Good pointI tend to just put everything in the laundry basket together and wait until there's enough for a full load then separate it out for different types of wash - I suppose the "cleaner" stuff would have to be kept separate right from the beginning. Is that how you do it?
I wear things more than once anyway if it's just for around the house, keeps the ironing a bit more manageable. So when I'm done it does tend to need a real wash.
I know someone who washes everything even if she has only worn it for a few seconds (i.e. if she's trying on more than one outfit for a night out)0 -
No point in washing things every time they've been worn (not in our house anyway...........lol) and I always change into something else when I come home. That way what I've gone out in stays cleaner for longer.
No more de-cluttering today............back aches after 7 bin bags (OH is hoovering the stairs for me and doing the bathroom) I couldn't have stood the bending about. Counsellor appointment at 11am so got a bit of time to kill by sitting and doing nothing in particular.............lol
Might do a bit more tomorrow depending on how my back feels.......want to get it done now I've started but no point in going mad and not being able to do anything.
Just need OH to sort his side of the bedroom out now............how many pairs of jeans does a bloke need ? Most of them are well worn and known as his 'work jeans' but even so............does he need so many ??? Best not to nag today as he's been good enough to wear the 'domestic hat'.................lolMary

Hi all,
re: washing items that aren't too dirty - Have you tried soap nuts? you get a few washes out of them (how many depends on the temperature you wash at) they aren't great for whites or really dirty stuff like sports kits but they can go in the compost bin when you've finished with them.
Re: bedding in a pillow case. I've been doing this for years, OH thinks I'm mental! I turn a pillow case inside out (a patterned one so that I know which set it is) fold up my duvet cover into a long strip and then fold the sheet and other pillow cases into the middle, it then slides easily into the pillow case - I have a king size bed and it all fits nicely. Saves rooting aroud for missing pillow cases in the linen drawer!
Pigpen your ebaying is amazing - I was excited with earning £100 on there!! I must pull my finger out and get things listed on Turbolister for Thursday.October 2013: Make [STRIKE]£10[/STRIKE] £5 a day member no.290 -
I've done the photos I need for ebay on Thursday, and I'll do the descriptions later on, or tomorrow. Too mind-numbing to do it all at once, even if I only have a few items and relists
There won't be anything in or out today0
