Not only have i started my great de-clutter in the house, yesterday while it was sunny we made a start in the garden too. My little plastic greenhouse has been packed up, going to nephew, cut 2 jasmine plants in big pots, going to whoever wants them and my honeysuckle the same way.I`m giving away to friends and family my plantpots etc just keeping a few for myself.

missyg - thanks for that info. I've told ex foster lad that if his mate wants to stick them on e bay he can and see what they fetch - and we'll split it, providing its enough worth splitting - but if his mate wants to keep them for interest's sake then thats fine by me.

Given up de-cluttering for today...........think I overdid it yesterday. Only a small room this but such a lot of stuff !!! Even OH has noticed a difference !
Might root through big bruvs photos and send them off -that'll be another job done or might even count out the bags of loose change I found and see how rich I am.....................lol

Still no response on freecycle about elec. typewriter or old books:confused:
Not throwing the books away...........Edwardian Womans Encyclopedia - no way........might end up asking ex foster girls sister to e bay it for me cos I've not got a clue about how you do it and don't have camera for piccies anyway.

  • Having been a ‘lurker’ to this thread for a while now, I’m wondering if I can join in? We desperately need to de-clutter our house and our lives. OH and I got married recently and merged our two homes, so we have stuff everywhere ! Getting together (we had both been single for a long time) is wonderful but it’s presenting us with challenges in terms of adapting to our new circumstances and opportunities to make changes in terms of downsizing and simplifying. We made a start on the clutter yesterday by sending lots of stuff to the charity shop, rubbish to the tip and a few items to freecycle. But we have a long way to go. We hope to be able to both work part-time (so the equivalent of one full-time income) and spend more time living the simple life. At present however we need to get the house, garden and allotment (yes one of those too, lol) in order. And I feel we will need some support to keep on track…….

Pigpen you HAVE done amazingly well with your finances, anyone can see that from your sig!!! In less than 2 years!!!

Hi Northern_star, there is at least one other person on here going from 2 homes to 1 so maybe you can swap notes! I'm single, but going down to part-time hours has made a massive difference in my life, so good luck with that goal!

After 3 tries on Ebay and one at the car boot I've accepted that my piece of camping equipment isn't going to get me any £ (even though it's virtually brand new!) and it has left the building with a Freecycler today :p Some you lose, eh.

I have to find as much stuff as possible in my house to ebay today!

We went on our 2 day DFDS cruise and returned yesterday. I got paid 5 days ago, after paying for rent, bills, food/drink for OH birthday party this coming Saturday night and spending money for Amsterdam my wages are down to £20 and we returned to find the tax credits have not been paid so we're officially skint! So I have to make as much on ebay as possible to last til my next pay day (18 May) to prevent us having to sell the car!

I just wish I didn't have this cough/cold, I expected to wake up feeling much more motivated!

Come on Melvis, you can do it. Don't forget to use Auctiva so you will get all your extra photos free.

Got to go to post some Ebay sales, but then a day of decluttering and listing for me

Woohoo! Tax credits sorted, phew! That takes the urgency off the ebay selling but OH's recent bailiff letter means it still needs to be done!

Phone call of mother telling me she's popping round later with OH's bday card so gonna tidy up downstairs ready for her arrival, then declutter big spare room and pop some stuff on ebay over the next few days. Although on Saturday will be spending most of the day organising OH's birthday party!

Ventured into the spare room this morning...............it's full of 'overspill' clothes and storage for things like dads stuff, spare duvets etc. Those are all in their proper place but the rest of the floor was covered with stuff I've been getting for gift baskets...........hard to organise that really but I tried so at least now I can see whats there and who its for...........just about !
Need folk to have their birthdays now before I dare get anything else towards Christmas (already got some !)
So, that took me all morning and I feel I've done nothing !! And it's true..........I haven't really done a thing !

 Still no takers for the stuff I put on freecycle. Saw an add in the local paper for ordinary typewrite -£10..........bet someone will buy that !! I can see my freecycle stuff wending it;s way up the stairs to the spare room:confused:

Oh well, can't win 'em all.

Does it cost to advertise in the paper? Why not advertise your typewriter? Or try a neighbouring freecycle area? or would your local charity shop take the items?
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
