sillyvixen - yes I know and she was thrilled to bits with what she had, plus she needed some folders and I'd got some spare.........and just looking round all the clutter in here I've spotted some other bits she may well have had......some of those sort of chunky dried flowers, you know the sort, a bit wooden. Must remember to show her them tomorrow when she calls in:j

Well all items except one sold. Over £117 raised! That's going in the pot for a weekend away! Can't wait to get to my house next weekend to see what else we can list now - I have a pile of stuff in the office.
Will be taking photos of the state of my office next weekend when we go to my house for the weekend, Clutter Warning!!! its hideous! I need to get it cleared so we can move a sofa bed into the room. Can barely walk through it at the moment.
Of course it goes without saying that I need to make enough room in the rest of the house for tons of OH's stuff to fit too!
Oh well, that's next weekend....Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

no.. I rarely move but when I do I leave a trail of devastation and binbags!!
I have 3 boxes of stuff here to list on ebay.. I am aiming to get this done this week.. but my pile has gone from 6 ft high to... 3ft.. so I must have shifted a fair amount!! AND if the maternity stuff doesn't go this time I have a taker for it on freecycle.. so it will go in that direction.
I just want it all to disappear.. I am hoping to get the boys room decorated this week too which will entail bed shifting and as I need to paint DS2's cupboard I will sort through his clothes.. he has grown a lot since I last went through it so I don't think he will have much left that fits.. Tomorrow will be taken up with finding the floor in there.. I find it so much easier doing stuff when they are at school.. I am also seeing if I can afford £14 a week for Tiddles to stay 2 full day at nursery each week..
I have so much to do it is unreal..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi,
I unfortunately don't have enough time to read all of this thread (hopefully one day!) but I have searched lots to see if anyone here has a solution to my problem so hopefully I'm not asking a question that has already been asked and answered!
I'm trying to sort out all the boxes of stuff/memories I've accumulated over the years and am currently surrounded by the cards we received on our engagement & wedding day and am wondering how I can keep them in a slightly more organised fashion rather than stuffed in a box! And this seemed like a good thread for potential solutions!
Does anyone else have any imaginative crafty way for me to store / display these cards - unfortunately I'm not ruthless enough to throw them away completely. I was thinking of possibly just keeping the messages inside the cards and putting them in a scrapbook - only keeping the outside of the card if it's personal (i.e a cross stitch / homemade card) (I can then use some of the outsides for other homemade cards!). Can anyone suggest anything else - what have you done with all your cards?
Any suggestions much appreciated (by my husband too!!:D )
Thank you

My overall debt has gone up to £5600.. so I need to get shifting some of that.. It is due to the next sale and my catalogue sale after christmas but I have got all the presents for 3 of the children so it isn't a bad start.
I am also behind on one of my catalogues payments and hope to have them bck up to date by the end of June.. I have £810 left on the student loan so I want rid of that too.. £150 a month better off sounds good to me.
anyway this waffle is leading somewhere lol.
I NEED to me making about £400 a month on ebay again.. or just in general sales and slinging.. I have now said it I need to do it..
another £200 is needed this month..
I will be clutterfree, debtfree and messfree eventually!!.. with 9 pieces of furniture in the downstairs of my house lol.. hubby asked if that means I think we need more furniture.. I said absolutely not.. it means all the rest of the junk is exactly that... junk.. and can be chucked.. That is my mission!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
pigpen, good luck on your mission.
clarkey, I use the cardboard or plastic boxes you can buy with lids on, cheapish in Ikea, Home Bargains, Poundland etc. For cards/memories from a specific event I use those file things with the plastic pockets in, display folders? might be what some places call them. I picked up some green ones in stationary box when they were stopping the green range quite cheaply, they do them in poundshops, home bargains etc aswell. Then I can label the pocket instead of the item saying what's in each one, then I stick a label or some masking tape in the middle at the top to stop them falling out if I pick it up the wrong way (:o learning from experience)
I've decided aim for one thing a week after trying and ending up doing a mishmah of things which leads to getting nowhere. Well this weeks declutter in between studying will be DS1s old clothes, bigger than DS2 so handed down the other way, made a start but a LONG way to go.One day I might be more organised...........

I have filled another bag of little girly bits for the people coming to collect 15 minutes ago.. well, they shouldn't be late!! lol
I have tap and ballet shoes to ebay.. though I might well go stick a note up in dance class.. it doesn't loko like any of them are bothered about going any more and I sure as heck aren't going to force them. I also have a large pile of dresses which I can list.
I WILL have some money and some space and no debts!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Tap and ballet is a bit of a drain on finances isn't it? Add to that jazz and musical theatrea dn you might be able to wince as much as I do.
Speaking of which, I ought to go collect the Goddess. She's duea at dance class after school *wince*
No de-cluttering this week, but am working on sorting out the laundry/clothes mountains and hope to have them dealt with by the end of this week:)Fat, female and fabulous

Hello guys & girls
Welcome Mophead, thanks for posting up your list and let us know how you're getting on. I'll be very interested to hear about the vinyl, I know someone who wants to get rid of theirs but I've been hearing mixed reports lately. (Just seen your sig too - DFD is very soon!!!)
Pigpen wears us all out Mary! You never seem to stop for a minute, PP... and I have faith that you'll make those ebay targets. Good luck.
Angela that is a brilliant result on ebay for you, all but one item! Wow! You must have had some classy stuff! My success rate is only 62%!
Hi Clarkey, don't ever worry about repeating questions, nobody should be expected to read back through the entire thread! I can't really help with your cards dilemma as i chuck (recycle) all mine. The only ones I've kept were son's first birthday and they are in my "mementos" box (only half full!) along with a very few other bits. We have lots of crafty people here so hopefully someone will be along with some suggestions for you!
Not sure what I can be doing this week... I'll have a squiz around now...0
