  • Well, my recent ebaying brought me £134 :j Unfortunately I have to use this for the car service today - neutral money though! Worse news is though my contract is due to finish soon, I'd hoped for an extension but I've just found that I won't be getting it. Now I really need to pull my finger out and get selling my junk!!! I've also got exams before my contract expires and I'm not revising enough as it is, never mind the time consuming addiction that is ebaying. Thinking of ebay. How long do you leave a buyer before you give them a nudge about leaving feedback? I usually leave it after I post the item. I may start to leave it after I receive it.

I know, its a quandary Mellika as no one really knows if their stuff is likely to sell.

We under-priced a couple of items on the postage side, we thought we had done a good job, but obviously not. You have to put it down to experience I am afraid. We have been philosphical about it - the stuff would only be sitting in our cupboards gathering more dust if we hadn't put it on.
Thething is, they wouldn't really be sitting around because I would take them to a carboot sale.

I guess my question really is: carboot or ebay???

It depends whether you know what the item is worth - if in doubt, Ebay every time

I also think it depends on the weight. I keep heavier items for car boot as any buyers will factor in the high postage costs before bidding.

Mellika, with ebay you have listing fees, and at a carboot you have to pay a fee for your pitch so you'll have a bit of outlay either way. I've done both this year and I've made a lot more money with ebay - but others will say the opposite! What about starting with 10 things on ebay, that's £1 at 10p a listing. Then if nothing sells you've only lost £1 :)Clutterfree makes a good point about bulkier items too.

Prince Fan, I leave it to the buyer to decide if they want to leave feedback and I never chase them for it. Once I know the buyer is happy then I leave feedback for them but not before :)

eBay it...unless it looks like it could fetch a ton, in which case have an expert look at it.

I have so much stuff, nothing of any value and I cannot figure out who would buy my junk.
Who on earth buys the junk?
    Is it worth selling?
