We've got 11 items on ebay at the moment, watchers on 9 of them and bids on 4, the auctions don't end until Sunday so plenty of time to go.
A printer and some books have gone via Freecycle, both "first choice" takers messed me around but the "second choices" were both very nice and seemed genuine - frankly I'm glad to get some stuff out the door!
Still living in a mess but I guess it's a start...Piglet

36 things, 13 with bids totalling £14.25 so looking nice and healthy with several days to go
Prepared a grand total of two listings last night, then a friend called and I got nothing else done at allI'm impressed at how quickly you get your stuff prepared for listing Pigpen, what's the secret? Maybe I am spending too long faffing on my wording?
Anyway, it's nose to the grindstone in a minute to get them all done today.
I haven't been completely useless, I've started cleaning up the chest of drawers and I've walked a bin bag of cardboard to the recycling this morning!0 -
Well, I managed to get kitchen painted and partially decluttered. I have to apologise though that I was well and truly stuck in, when I realised I hadn't taken any photos!
I am on magnolia duty today. Touching up the lounge, dining room, hallway, stairs, landing, etc.
OH has got Thursday off to join me in the work.
Managed to get three more boxes of packing into the garage. Need to do more though.
Am intending on hiring a van this weekend so we can transport fridge freezer, spare bed, spare armchair, and boxes over to my house.
Have a confession though - I have spent the entire morning on the web, so gotta go!Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi all,
Touch wood - my eBay stuff is selling well - 70 items listed about 15 unsold - not bad going.
I've started a flinging journal. I'm listing in it everything that I've flung - it's quite therapeutic to see that I've actually made some progress because I can't see the progress in the house yet!! Does anyone else do this or is it just me giving a use to an unwanted notebook
I'm on a mission, watch out - if it's not nailed down - FFFlinggg!!!!!! until I get sentimental and make up some stupid excuse to keep it!!

Someone on here weighed everything that they had 'flung' and kept a record that way.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0 -

I do basic wording on the listings and all the waffle is already saved on there.. short and concise. and people still ask stupid things.. like how long a 99cm long skirt is!!!!
I am hoping to get at least another 13 things done today to round it up to 50.. I'll have probably about 10 from the items already listed that can be relisted tomorrow... the rest is going to charity shop as I'm sick of moving it about.
I still have 3 boxes to sort through and I haven't sorted the baby stuff into bundles yet.. but I may save those until next time.. they'll be a faff to parcel and post.
I have 8 bottle of VO5 hair gel which I'm slinging on freecycle in a bit.. DS1 decided he doesn't like it.. so it has been cluttering my bathroom for over a year!.. Re freecycle - I started using it last week as I had so much junk to get rid of (not even worth an ebay attempt) and was shocked at one woman who kept asking what else I had!!! When she came to collect she was trying to edge further and further in the house:eek: eying up the pile of stuff behind me asking if she could have a look through!! I think she'd have gone round my house and picked out what she wanted if she could :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm all for getting rid of my junk but some people take it so seriously!!!Back Comping after a 2yr break! :j0 -
ooh I'd have been really horrified and probably thrown her out without giving her what she had come for.. that is so awful.. like when you do a crapboot and people are in the car before you have opened it!!! .. some are really intimidating as well.. I'll stick to ebay lol.. and I've only come across lovely people on freecycle thank goodness!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Reporting in with 13 items loaded up and ready. It was 14 but I've just decided to keep one of them :rotfl: for now, anyway (does anyone else do that?
)
Pics taken for 17 more, so it will be 30 when I've finished. HOW did I still find another 30 items to go?!
I do have a template saved with all the stuff that goes on every listing, but it's the individual descriptions that are taking the time, checking the details, doing a condition report etc. Some of my stuff is a bit obscure as well and I have to look dates up and whatever. Ah well, no pain no gain!
Prince Fan - I haven't kept a journal but I want to do an inventory of what's left when I'm finished. I know this is really anorakish but I want to see it written down to prove that I'm not keeping anything more than I really need.
Bargainhuntermummy - that sounds creepy! I haven't had one like that yet but I've heard of them - looking over your shoulder to see what else is lined up to go! I've had a couple where I've offered them extra items once they arrived, but I don't do that any more after one person took something and then freecycled it a few days later saying "if no takers, it goes to the tip" (I'm all for her passing it on if she changed her mind, but her threatening the tip on a nearly-new item annoyed me).
Still can't quite believe I've got another 30 items to go. Where will it end!0
