You got a good deal on that bedding Pigpen. I love new, fresh bedding :D

Nicky, good luck with your stuff. Lofts are so cold in the winter so it's probably best you've waited a bit ;)

So 6 of my 11 items sold last night and I got £33. Pleased with that! The ones I have ending next weekend should beat that, fingers crossed.

This week I will be getting my stuff ready to do my tax return. I'm hoping it'll be relatively straightforward this year after a couple of very complicated years!

Well, OH and I took a car load of keepables over to my house.

This has cleared the office and the built in wardrobes quite a bit. I can see we are going to have to have a clear out at mine though - I was shocked how many clothes I have that I simply aren't wearing!

I have four non-working days this week, so it is "put the house on the market" countdown.

    Today's mission is the kitchen.

    I plan to:

    - clear out the cupboards of any store ingredients that won't be needed before we move
    - box up excess crockery/glasses/gadgets and put in garage
    - wipe down all surfaces, clean oven
    - repaint walls, ceiling, skirtings and cornice
    - iron the roman blind that I washed ready for hanging when paint dries
    - list all food in freezer (freezer will need emptying and contents taking to MiL's as I need to clear out the fridge freezer, put in garage and have a undercounter fridge I bought from ebay to go in kitchen but it doesn't have a freezer bit).

I will take before and after photos as I know you all love photos!:D

Am off to make a start now.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Hi all,

I haven't been on here for ages but I'd just like to say thanks to all of you who have mentioned Turbo Lister - I always used to put off listing things on eBay becaus it takes too long. Turbo Lister is easy to use and gets the job done.
Over the easter weekend I listed about 70 items (more than I've sold on ebay in the last 3 years combined!) There are still about 40 items on sale and I've made £50+ after all the fees! - I had one item not sell which belonged with a set that that I had sold - I posted it on to the person who bought the set as it's no use to me without the machine. Any other items that don't sell will be getting combined into mixed lots for one last try - after that, what happens to it will depend on what it is!
I've also got another 15 or so items photographed, waiting to be listed.
A lot of my clutter is just 'stuff' that certainly isn't worth ebaying. Does anyone have any tips for those annoying bits of stuff (I call it 'Sh** & stuff') that probably have no use to anyone else but you don't want to throw it away? I should probably do a bit of scrapbooking but knowing me that would just create more clutter!!

    Happy flinging!! :)

I have categories of 'retro boho vintage junk'..
    1. Keep for next child down .. If it is wearable and stil nice and will still be 'fashionable' ie.. not too dated to be worn in 2 years time
    2. ebay .. if it will sell and is suitable to sell it gets listed
    3. friends/family who may need it.. I'd rather give something to someone in need than fling it.
    4. charity shop/freecycle .. whatever seems most appropriate
    5. recycle .. we have collections of most stuff so it isn't difficult to sort
    6. bin .. hardly anything goes in here..though the manky pillows did!

Hi Angela, I'll look forward to seeing the pictures! Before and afters are always good.

Princefan - I'm another one grateful to have had Turbolister recommended! As for your 'stuff' (lol), I can only suggest making up a box of items that are broadly similar and try to freecycle it as a lot? I had a load of really bitty DIY leftovers, you'd think nobody would have been interested but they went to someone who was making a doll's house. If you feel like listing what type of stuff it is, we might be able to think of some other ideas?

5 out of 6 of my ebay items have been paid for and posted. The 6th is the same one I had the npb for last time! ARGHHH! But it's only day one so I won't panic yet :p

My categories are exactly the same Pigpen although "next children down" are cousins as I only have the one ;)

Very, very little ends up in the bin, and thanks mostly to Freecycle I've never had to go to the tip either - amazing considering I've been over the whole house more than once including the loft and sheds, and redecorated most rooms!

Just cannot bear to throw away anything that someone may have a use for.

5p ebay listings this Thursday everyone!

Think I might go on an ebay item hunt tomorrow, can't imagine I've got much left anywhere but it's worth a look, and see if I can get my son to do the same :p

The house is feeling really bare actually :o
