Likewise, I would caution anyone against using this company.

They took my money for an item before even checking whether it was in stock. I received an email two weeks later saying they did not have it.

They don't need to check, they ALREADY knew there was no stock when they advertised the product. The business Knowingly advertise and sell out-of-stock goods for a reason.

This is a common scam "selling" non existent products or goods online to get customers funds and holding on to it as long as possible making huge interest because of it on their business account.
Notice that almost all legitimate companies DO NOT take your money until the order is about to be processed/dispatched?
They hold on to your money making 'refunds take 30 days' excuses because the LONGER they hold out the more interest they make.

I recently Fallen for this scheme from another Birmingham based company doing this. forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2233053&page=2

Must be a huge coincidence that theres 2 companies in birmingham 3 miles apart doing this...
also you do need a Cartel of a companies doing this because you need to con a lot of customers to make serious money from this scheme, one company doing this alone would raise too much suspicion.

Trading standards in birmingham need pull their finger out and do their job taking action against these people.

I am surprised that watchdog have not covered this scam!

    AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!!!

That was hilarious - you were lucky to get someone in Birmingham. Everyone I spoke to was in India and refused to give me their manager's contact details. No email, no phone no nothing. One time they said they don't even have a manager they report into...sheer incompetence.

Yes - I think I got lucky earlier, first call I was directed to India call center the chap said, I hung up and tried again on the same number and got straight through to the UK chaps...

They do sound as though they are trying to do their jobs but have obviously been trained not to treat us normal consumers.. I think they are trying to get B2B companies there main priority... although I don't think that this is working for them.. :D

    Dear Mr Gulzar

    Thank you for your email.

I note that you are taking action to recover your money from your credit card company and that should be the best way of obtaining a refund. I may contact you again to see if you are willing to give a statement on your experience with this company as this could help us in any action we may take.

    Thanks

  • It's a shame you cannot give ZERO stars.....

I ordered a 'Save' item (second hand) PS3 steering wheel on Friday 5th July which was to be delivered by Monday or Tuesday (8th & 9th).

I checked my emails to see if the item had been dispatched over the weekend and on Monday but nothing. I phoned the number on their website and spoke to 'Daniel' on Monday afternoon.

'Daniel' told me he would look into this. He said everything was fine and he would contact the dispatch team to send an email to me straight away and that I would get the item "tomorrow" (Tuesday 9th). I asked him to confirm that again to me by asking him "So I will definitely get it tomorrow?", he again replied "yes".

I found this scenario strange - why should I, as a customer, prompt someone at 16:55 (five minutes before the call centre shuts) to do the job they should have done? Nevertheless I gave WAE the benefit of the doubt and thought I'd just check my emails for this promised imminent email from the 'Dispatch Team' confirming my item was out for delivery, safe in the knowledge I had just been reassured over the phone by a member of WAE staff.

No email arrived so today (Tuesday 9th July 2013) I phoned them just before 11am. I spoke with a man called 'Subrata' to find out what was going on and he informed me my item was in a European Warehouse and that it would take at least 7 working days to send. The item was obviously not in stock as claimed originally on their website and by 'Daniel' so I decided to cancel the order. Subrata said he would cancel the order and give me a full refund.

Seeing that their website had new items 'In Stock' I thought I'd give them one more chance to redeem themselves by sending me a brand new item which I thought was fair. I phoned again and I spoke to 'Ranjan' but he said he could not authorise this. I demanded to speak with a manager but he said he could not call out from where he was. I asked why and where was he, only to be told he was in an Indian call centre and the only way to speak with a manager was emailing them. I said I would make a complaint so I wrote an email to 'management@waeplus.com' as given by 'Ranjan' by midday asking to be contacted immediately. Not a single reply at all, all day. AND when I checked my account they had taken my money on Friday 5th July!! How dare they! Amazon do not do this!

The whole thing stinks of a fake internet company selling bogus stock and with no clear refund policy. See their response below from the email they sent...

can we do something about them? i mean rather than all ranting about it lets do something and get the scumbags behind bars
  • Well, after nearly 3 months of waiting, I got an e mail from UPSD stating my tracking number for my delivery. This was the only communication I received, however on checking WAE+'s website for my order details, its status had changed as well.

I'm not sure what spurred them into action. I had contacted Trading Standards, threatened legal action, and filed a dispute with my bank.

On June 26th, I received 3 out of 4 of the items I had ordered, including the £150 CPU which I am glad to confirm is installed and working as intended. I am still waiting for a refund on the 4th item, my £20 Headphones. I have a sneking suspicion that they are trying to delay that as long as possible in the hope that I will cut my losses and give up. It's precisely for that reason that I intend to chase it.

Although I have received most of my order, I view this as a pyrrhic victory. I seriously considered refusing the delivery and carrying on with chasing a refund. As a brow-beaten customer, I decided that just made for more hassle for me.

So, if anyone can give me an idea how much interest my £200 may have earned this slacker company from 5th April when I ordered it to the final arrival on June 26th, I'd be interested to know.

I will re-iterate: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. There are people instigating scam reviews, getting negative ones removed. They obfuscate, delay and generally annoy. they are untrustworthy, they promise and renege. When I finally received most of my order, I felt lucky. Was beginning to think my money had disappeared into a black hole. Feeling like getting my stuff delivered was a lucky escape is not a good feeling, especially after nearly 3 months.
  • You can get basic details of the financials of WAE+, who the directors are and where they live from companycheck.co.uk. The last financial figures do not indicate that the company has a lot of stock or other assets... Cash in hand of £10K isn't enough to pay the wages of any staff along with rent, business rates and electricity costs. I imagine collecting your money without sending any goods helps to keep the directors' cars on the road...
  • I meant to add - the petition page mentioned in some posts appears to have been hacked. The links for supposed WAE+ past guises are now legitimate newspapers. I can't imagine who would do such a thing...
  • I have still not received a refund for the order I cancelled. They are now in breach of consumer legislation that requires refunds to be made within 30 days so I am lodging a complaint with Trading Standards. I am also disputing the card transaction with the credit card company. I have written to the card company explaining the circumstances and suggesting that WAE+ should have their authority to receive credit card payments withdrawn.
If I do not get a refund, I plan to issue a claim through the small claims court for the money that is owed, plus the cost of my time spent trying to recover the money.

I have just called this company to check on an order I placed 2 weeks ago. Last date for delivery was today so I thought I would call and check after reading through other customers poor experiences.

I spoke to a gentleman in the UK who explained to me that my order had not been sent, but did not know why. I challenged the fact that the website said that it was in stock, and he told me that it was in stock, but abroad.
This is not what a customer expects when told that it is "in stock"...

Anyways, he gave me the usual spiel that i've seen from other people on here that he would get it shipped as a priority order etc, but I informed him that I had now done my research and the only thing that I really want from him is a refund, which he said would be processed as soon as possible.

My big problem with this company is that it is literally down the road from me... so when seeing that the item was in stock, I was more than happy to order. Unfortunately, I have one of my own customers waiting for this particular part, and so it is now causing me problems in my own business.

I will pursue them through the small claims court if I do not receive my refund shortly.
