    'Quotation King' eh?

I'll try to sort that out for the sig soon :)

Skimming through the last two pages (boy, you go away to work, and there's loads of stuff appearing!), it's fairly obvious that loads of people have really had a good productive day, so a HUGE well done to them.

Fingers crossed, my pay should arrive in my savings account tomorrow (well, as long as finance have changed things - otherwise there might be a wee problem! So, that'll mean I can pay my first amount to CCCS (which will be fantastic!), pay my rent and sort out the rest into the new account, and set up all those direct debits. The ones which I'm getting send angry letters wondering why they haven't been paid!

Looking forward positively to tomorrow then!

  • I'm having a lightbulb moment but really a novice, or an ostrich.

Need some advice, having a baby in a month and know won't be able to met payments for everything whilst on maternity leave or when return on reduced hrs. Is all unsecured, eg loans cards etc.

What happens when you contact cccs? Do you have to declare everything or just the debts that are unmanageable. Do they take over your bank a/c and make you canx dd's etc?

What happens to your credit rating (not that i want anymore) :-(
What is the first step if diy? Are companies generally better if go with someone like cccs?

Could someone talk me through it step by step

    Hi alfredsmum!

You really do need to declare everything to CCCS. Don't panic! They're brilliant! Completely unjudgemental, and will just go through everything with you.

What you will need to do is the background research - the statement of affairs for them, and obviously the whole list of creditors you owe money to.

On your initial session with them, they go through it all, work out a monthly budget for you - which you should be able to live on okay too.

CCCS don't take over your bank account, but they do ask you to open up a new basic bank account (mainly down to the fact that if you owe money (overdraft) to your current account, then it's one of the first things the bank will do - close it down.

But even that's not so bad really.

As for your credit rating - yup, it'll take a dive. Quite honestly, I never had a problem with that! I never want to spend what I don;t have again!

Hope that helps a bit, more help I'm sure will be forthcoming.

    All the very best!

    Hi & Welcome! :hello:

You have to tell CCCS all your debts, or it may end up that they withdraw help if they, or your creditors, find out you are still paying some normally. I think it'd be really good to start the process before the baby comes! With regards to the DIY/CCCS, in my opinion, you might want to do the CCCS option as then you hav someone dealing with it all when you are busy with the baby and all associated dramas!

When you first ring the CCCS you'll get an appointment and asked to collate all details of acc numbers and total debts, as well as the incomings and outgoings (they'll send you a form fro this). Then you have all this to hand and discuss it with them when they phone you at an allocated time. They are wonderfully reassuring and will run through all your options. Then you can think about it - they'll send you the paperwork and tell you what to do next etc. If you're having trouble you can ring them to check things out and can also just keep on referring your creditors to them.

Look into opening a new account that your salary & CB will be paid into that isn't connected to any debts as they can and will take your money!

Your credit rating is messed up, but it's not the end of the world really if you want to stop debting! Mortgaging can be a problem, but there are solutions.

CCCS will not know your new bank acc number, nor woul dthey want to. You will need to cancel the debt DDs but normal council tax etc ones are fine.

It is a voluntary agreement, not a legal one.

    Hope that helps!
