newlywed - CCCS do not contact creditors until you have signed their agreement for the DMP.
They will send you a copy of a letter to send to creditors informing them that you have entered into a dmp and also advise you to make a token payment until dmp is up and running. It took me about 4 weeks from date of initial contact with CCCS, until all the paperwork was sorted. in the meantime i just sent token payments.
As far as the bonus goes, it's not part of your monthly income figures because its not a regular amount so I don't see that sorting out your car would be a problem.

Thanks. I was trying to find out how long it would all take to set up but CCCS replied to my email and said I'd need to ring them. which I can't quite bring myself to do just yet. :o Plus I'm at work :D

Do I send what I can afford as token payment - eg roughly what the CCCS money would total?
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

your income and expenditure figures are based on you regular income overtime is not guaranteed so it's not counted for the dmp calculations.

Just send what you can it could be as little as £5, just make sure they know that you have contacted CCCS and you are trying to sort it out.
They may be a bit peed off but hey ho what can they do !! If you haven't got it they can't have it!!

Once the dmp is sorted at least they know they are guaranteed to get something.

I'd just feel a bit of a fraud saying I can afford to go on a DMP and give them approx half the current payments and then only pay them a £5 each.

If you can afford to pay more and you would feel better by doing so then thats fine, it's up to you, do what you feel comfortable with but don't struggle.

one of my minimum payments was £200 p.c.m and I sent them £40 , they accepted my DMP and the token payment of a much smaller amount meant that me and my daughter were able to buy food that month.

My DMP has not started yet, but my payments on the DMP is only a third of my regular payments. I have just (yesterday) sent off the notification letter provided by CCCs with token payments of £5 each to my creditors.
