Just wanted to say Hi and thanks for a wonderful site! Its so good to know that I,m not alone with my debts--I owe about £17,500 to Barclaycard, Halifax and Barclaycard Loan. Normal story- no CSA for 5 years- Tax credits etc lost when daughter left home/education-- rent rises etc etc
I have applied about 4 weeks ago for Payplans helpand am just waiting to hear if my creditors will accept - Has anyone had any joy with Barclaycard and Barclaycard Loan??? or Halifax credit card and current account overdraft???
any help would be fantastic!!!0 -
Hi.
A big welcome CATH. Well done on sorting yourself out with Payplan. They have been very good for me and i am also waiting to hear if creditors accept.
Cannot help with your creditors as none of them are mine.
Good luck though and i am sure someone who has the same creditors will be along soon.

Hello all
I have had a reply from payplan to say they have received my email but no other response and the figures haven't changed yet will check again tomoorrow. I will also do myself a s/s tonoght of who has accepted and dropped my interest and who hasn't so I can hassle then back.
Citi cards were one of the first to accept and drop my interest.
Egg put a default and sold me on to moorcroft ver quickly although just the loan not the c/c.
I need to link my new current accoount with ING beofre I can open anymore so I have to request a cheque book another phone call to make now!!

hi everyone
thanks for your good advice, hubby is a week late with cc payment to lloyds and we have already had 5 phone calls when we were out and they left message for him to call them. (no other creditors have rang yet)
also they have tried to call him at work which worries me the most as then it is effecting work life. I have had letter about my loan payment which was due yesterday asking why i have canx dd. (would anyone recommend ringing creditors or would you wait for cccs to do this for me?
The dmp should be sorted soon however does anyone recommend trying to make token payments or ringing crediters first before they ring us.?
The last week it has felt so good not using credit cards and paying cash it makes your really think before you buy anything, its a good feeling.
I am constantly stressed atm and having palpatations i have got to try and relax (any ideas) we owe such a lot of money i did not think we would be accepted for dmp but cccs advises this route.
anyway will have to go school run and then open night after school, may log in later this evening.
bye for now.0 -

I dont know if you have done this already but when i knew that i was unable to meet the minumum payments on my credit cards loans etc i wrote a letter to them all saying i was going to be starting a DMP with Payplan shortly. If you have a reference no quote this when you write. I also enclosed a token payment for each (£5) and also asked if all correspondence could be in writing.
I must admit i have only had 1 or 2 calls so far and keep copies of letters you send. They are then aware what you are going to be doing and even a token payment shows that you are willing to pay something and are not avoiding paying.
If you have already done this then disregard the above.
I believe smilealot posted a standard letter on a previous post for you to copy and send.

I have closed this thread and opened part two, long threads are contributing to the slowness of the site and so you get a nice shiny new one here.0
