hi again, just hit our first problem as i have said before i am just in the first stages of a DMP. CCCs told us to cancel all DD'S & SO'S at the bank. anyway my hubby has a halifax loan, and a SO from his halifax account for it. went to the bank today and asked to cancel his SO but they said that he can't. phoned CCCs they said when halifax get a letter from them informing them of the DMP they will cancel it. Has anyone else had this problem???????????? :mad:0

Yep amani i did, my natwest loan was set up as a DD, So they wouldnt cancel it ( i banked with natwest at the time), but they did after dmp got in touch.
They did try and take the money from the account for about about 2 months and then added charges to the account when there was no money there, as i had set up new account elsewhere which my wages were being paid into.
They defaulted the account and my overdraft and loan where added together and are now delt with by the collection dept of Natwest. This is who my dmp send payments too.
As for the charges they applied i got them back when i reclaimed the last 6 years worth back.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -

Yup I've checked and everything is up to or over its limit. So shopping will have to wait and hopefully I'll be paid tomorrow. Petrol money will be borrowed from OH's tax.
Monday will be visiting A&L for a basic account and savings account - will they accept an expired passport from October as id - only form of photo id I have just now.
Next will be removing OH's savings from my current account.
Then will be moving wages over to new account.
Then will be canceling/moving DD's over to the new account after 1st April as they all go finish then so can hopefully move them all over for the end of the next month no problem.
I feel better now I have a plan. Just hope there's not too many nasty phone calls. Letters are fine. I've just always hated the phone anyway - much rather text than ring.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Hi
Just quickly read through the post and good luck to everybody. I cannot begin to say how much this site has helped me face up to my problem. Knowing that I am not the only person going through this has been a great help and to all the advice I have recieved many thanks:T :T
To anybody in the same situation who is flicking through the posts going through the same as us I recommend you sign up and post because without this site I would still be going through a personnal nightmare. Facing your problem head on is a great feeling.
Anyway , before I tear up, I have some news. Finally got my Halifax account sorted and I have been online and the account is there just waiting for the Debit card now. Hopefully will not be long!
ACCEPTED FOR DMP. Just got off the phone now from Payplan and we worked out more or less what I thought ie a surplus of £308 per month to be shared out to the vultures(Sorry creditors). I now have my case number and am waiting for paperwork and fingers crossed will start DMP 1st May.

That s all for now I feel like a great wait has been lifted and I know that dark days are ahead but at least I can now see a tiny light at the end of the Tunnel.
Will be back to offer advice and keep you all updated and once again many thanks:T :T :T

Afternoon everyone
Just checking in. I have a stinking cold and really haven't been at all productive today at work. Ooops.
I have just a quicj browse through a few posts and welcom to you all who I haven't spoken to yet.
I have had no calls from anyone in the past 2 months and my DMP started this month. Could be luck I guess but I phoned all of them and explained my situation and none of them have called me. I have had a letter from Co-op and MBNA but that was about it. I still haven't heard from Egg but I securely messaged them yesterday so lets wait and see.
I hope everyone is feeling better than I do cos I am feeling rotten. At least as I am not a temp anymore I will get sick pay at my new job, woo hoo.
Well, keep it up guys, we will prevail.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
