Afternoon everyone,,just sat down to see whats happening.

Ex - well done with the plan to speak to Halifax and refer them to CCCS - You may be suprised at their response. The chap that called me was great and was more than reassuring.

Teecee - Just finished all my housework and winding down with a cup of tea on the site !

Nothing bad in the post today again..I am trying to put those days firmly behind us..If you see what I mean...we have all had days when we dread whats in the post and if it's bad, how are we going to deal with it. I remember my darkest day back in November when we had no money available to spend until the friday when DH got paid and that was on the Sunday. With kids it just ain't easy is it !

Anyway, I am just proud of myself and what me and my lovely hubby and children have come through this last few months. Life was hell, there was no respite from that feeling of helplesness and sometimes you just wonder how you can get out of it all. Bad Times.

But Hey, aren't we all doing well this year so far. For those of us who are about to start DMP's this month, this is the start of a new phase in your lives and don't it feel good !

    Speak to you all soon

Just made a couple of phone calls.

Argos (they had written to me with a default notice). They were perfectly fine and told me that they had accepted CCCS offer of £5 per month. :j :T They did ask if they could have my phone number to put on file and I said I'd prefer if they made contact through the post. She was fine about that.

Next (had sent me a nasty letter). They were down right nasty. Kept asking for a payment of £239 . Kept saying they had heard nothing from me or CCCS. Said that I should set up a plan with them instead of CCCS and keep the account open. Yeah right. I told them it was CCCS or no-one.

CCCS: rang them about Next. Told me to stick to my guns and not to be pressured by anyone. She said they haven't heard back from any of my creditors  but no news is good news and it is only 9 days  . Seems a lifetime from where I'm sitting.

When Hellifax ring next I'll be giving them the CCCS ref number and hopefully get them off my case.

I really hope this is all going to work out. I'm feeling a bit stressed now whereas I had been positive before.

Just answered a call from Hellifax as they were ok I'll call them Halifax for a while. :rotfl:

Anyway the guy asked could I make a payment of £729 today. I told him that I couldn't make any payment and that I was with CCCS. He looked on file and said he could see I was with CCCS but hadn't had any money from them. I told him it was all new and that he should get a payment soon. He says he needs paperwork from CCCS and can't make a decision on payments until then.

Anyway he said he would take me off the automatic dialler :j for 10 days. They say they require a payment from either me or CCCS within 10 days.

The guy wasn't too bad at all. That's another demon faced today so I'm feeling a little happier again. Talk about mood swings. Positive to stressed to a bit happier all within 30 minutes. :rotfl:

OK they are getting their title of Hellifax back.

I got my post after work and there was an envelope with a postcard inside. "Our representative will call at your home on 13 March". Please contact us if this date isn't convenient.

Rang them. The minute she got my account number she said "Oh I can see you are with CCCS so ignore the card for now"

    What next?
  • Hi All

Ex - i'm not sure but I can't see how anyone can come and again access to your home without a court order of some kind so if YOU don't want to see a rep from the bank in your home, I don't see what they can do about it?
I'd check with cccs or the CAB?
I've been catching up on all the posts, went out last night! Anyone not fimialr with me please see my 1st post to see how far i've come ( http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=350322 )
Anyway - went to see Hot Fuzz at the cinema thanks to good old orange Wednesday - It was just what I and my DH needed, recommend everyone in need of some light relief go see it - £6 for 2 with 2- 4 -1 deal, bargin ( with sneaked in choc + pop !)
sorting my life out, then my debts

Thanks BH. I suppose in reality it was probably just a scare tactic as I wasn't answering their calls and they believed that sending me a card threatening a visit would be enough to get me to make contact. The card didn't even give a time, just a date. I don't believe someone would just appear on the off chance I'd be in.

Thanks for the tip on the film. You really need to bring your own drinks and sweets these days as they charge extortionate prices.

    Hi guys,

Ex- sorry to hear about Next and Hellifax (I'll be calling them that soon too!). At least Argos have come good. Hope nothing comes of the Halifax visit, it's a bit strong, isn't it?

Well I'm still waiting for my PayPlan docs to come through the post. Although I got a card saying I had a packet too big for my letterbox waiting at the parcel centre for me - maybe that's it. I really want to get it all moving now, feels like I'm delaying the inevitable and I can't even tell my creditors I've started the DMP yet.

I've also got a horrible feeling that the Co-Op have rejected me for a basic bank account. I applied in branch last Thursday and have heard nothing from them. I'm up the creek without a paddle if so as I need to get my pay transferred asap and can't send my DMP docs through until I have the DD bank account details :o( Do they reject people for basic bank accounts? I think my credit score is currently still showing "good" - only because my first missed payments will happen this month, I've been selling my soul to keep up monthly payments until now!

    Sorry for moaning.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi everyone, excellent thread :T

Myself and OH have a DMP which started today - payment being made tomorrow via the post office. We are just awaiting our paperwork from the CCCS as first of all we received a wrong creditors list... tried to suggest we keep it instead because the total was smaller :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone in the same boat and keep smiling.
This is a really daft question but I'll ask it anyway. :rotfl:

I have 2 catalogues. I don't owe either of them a penny which is a surprise as I owe to the rest of the world. :rotfl: Anyway I'm wondering is it ok to use the monthly clothing allowance that CCCS have set to buy from there? I know technically it's credit and you aren't supposed to get more credit but in a way it would keep me away from shops. We aren't talking major stuff here, just the odd pair of trousers for work when necessary.

If they are a credit account then no, but if you can pay for your purchases, then possibly. The CCCS agreement states you cannot enter into any new or extended credit agreements, so basically you can't owe anyone any money for any period of time. If it is a catalogue that will allow you to pay by debit card, for example, you might be ok.
