Hi all!
Ex-S,Halifax seem to be being a right pain in the ****!
Isn't funny how some of us have good and bad experiences with the same creditors!!
I owe Halifax £1300 so im hoping that they will accept the payment, i use to pay £25 a month and they are now offered £6! But capital one have exactly the same amount and they have accepted straight away, got a letter of confirmation from them today, saying they have stopped all interest and charges:j
i hope everyone is ok, i have one of those up and down days today, feel good about everything one minute then crap the next!!
Just still getting use to the fact i cant just go and put something on a credit card and at the moment when i feel down, thats all i wana do!!
Do you all have moments like that??

Got a letter today from Citibank - which I was hoping would be account details for me opening up with them.
Argh!
It seems I forgot to put a damn deposit cheque in the bundle, so there'll be a delay.
God knows where the cheque went though - I know I did one. It's probably gone in amongst all the other letters to creditors I've been dealing with.
Well, hopefully this minor setback won't be too problematic - everything's still set up with my current account anyway.
Annoying though...Chuffed to be member 11 on the DMP mutual support thread.

Hi everyone
Kelly don't worry youre not alone I have days like that too.
Just remember you're doing great and you will get there in the end.
At least now you have a plan. You've faced the debt and you WILL get through it.
I think part of my problem is I just don't know what to expect!
I'm trying so hard to stay positive but that is really draining in itself. I spend hours every day just trying to save money.
I know it will get better and we will make it just keep posting and when you don't have any more strength, some wonderful person on this site will help you see the wood for the trees and tell you that you are doing great!!!
lol & (((((hugs))))

Do you think at some stage we will have days where the thought of debt doesn't even cross our minds?0

Hey there, sorry to duplicate my post, but just wanted to share my little rant (and latest DMP-related experience) with my new mutual support friends:
Hi everyone
As some of you know I am new to this DMP malarky but I am proud to be finally doing something about my dire financial situation. Even though I am heavily in debt, I have never missed a payment, I am not in arrears with anything, and I have no defaults to date. So I thought that, even though I am starting a DMP with Payplan in April, I would try to maintain my good relationship with the creditors by writing to all of them personally (stupid I know!) and making token interim payments of £30 for each debt...with the debit card from my new (debt-free) account. What an idiot!
Luckily they were all quite helpful - and some were even pleasant (don't worry I know it doesn't last) - apart from....yes you guessed...MORGAN STANLEY.
First of all they lulled me into a false sense of security by pretending they actually cared about me, asking how I had got myself here, and like an idiot I gave them my life story. Unfortunately, they had received a copy of my income/expenditure, which as another gesture of goodwill I had included with my letter. So, first of all they questioned why I was only paying £30 this month, when I could actually afford to pay over a £100 on my DMP. I explained that I needed to build an emergency fund for business travel (I travel a lot with work) of a few hundred pounds, as this wasn't an expenditure (the costs are refunded) and couldn't be accounted for as such. He then started barking on about how I was going to be "saving" £500 each month when this could be going to my creditors. I reiterated that the money would only be taken from this month's pay and would be dipped into as and when I needed it thereafter. I had to talk him through it, step by step, until he understood. But, at this point, he was winding me up so much, and making me feel really small, that I actually felt like I was trying to con them (you know that feeling you get when the passport officials look you up and down ) Then - after all that - he said point blank "well sorry we don't accept Payplan, your debt management plan will be rejected." So I said, fair enough, if it doesn't work out, I'll look into an IVA. Then he stopped me to speak to his supervisor before coming back to tell me that I should pay an extra £5 (on top of the DMP payment) every month, and pay £70 instead of £30 this time round, then I would just be making my minimum payments and we wouldn't need to go through this DMP nonsense. I knew that by paying them more than the percentage Payplan had worked out, I would completely invalidate the DMP with my other creditors - it's disgusting the way they try to play on people's vulnerability. He kept spitting out the words "arrears" and "default" like they were filfthy words, talking to me in a really condescending tone, and being VERY pushy. And only then, at that point, did I understand the way these companies are trained to manipulate you. The worse thing was this wasnt even a shoddy debt collection agency, it was my first point of contact at the Morgan Stanley collections department.
Payplan were quick to point out where I had gone wrong - being too honest, giving them my new debit card details, trying to negotiate, talking to them like they were human beings - so next time I am going to be fully prepared. I can't believe the little idiot nearly reduced me to tears. Well never again Morgan Stanley, let the fight begin!
Thanks for all the great support and advice I have got from all of you over the last few days - don't think I would have coped with that phone call otherwise.I'm moving on up now,
Out of the darkness,

I'm sure it will happen one day but god only knows when!
i'm just taking it one day at a time at the mo thats just about all i can deal with.
no-one knows about my debt except you guys and just having someone to talk to is such a relief.
Don't know what i'd do if was still trying to hide my debt from everyone, at least here i can be honest and not be judged a complete failure.

Awe Lonely they are nasty pieces of work. You try do the right thing and then they try to shaft you.0

Teecee no-one knows about mine either except you guys and CCCS. When I wake up in the morning I go through a thought process of:
CCCS
Offers to creditors
Names of all the creditors go through my head
I then think what mail will come
I then think what calls will come
I really hope that soon CCCS will tell me all creditors have accepted and then I can stop thinking of it all the time and just make the payments each month and try to generate more money to pay extra.0 -
I don't know, i hope so! maybe in 2018 when its all gone!!!
Just i sit and wish that i hadn't got in this mess in the first place!!
Nevermind im here now!
Thanks to evryone though for all your support.
