Hi everyone
Nice to see so many of us who can chat together. :j
Kelly that's great that Next have accepted your reduced payments. They are one of my creditors. I owe them about £700. Not bad when I have nothing from there to show for it.  It's been clothes for my little girl over the past few years. Never again. Where they easy enough to deal with?
The Hellifax have me on that autodialler thing. I'm sure they ring about 10 times a day. I know I should answer but I couldn't be bothered with the "can you make a payment now by debit card" spiel that you get each time. Thank god for the silent function on phones. :rotfl: I sent them the standard CCCS template letter and I'm sure they've heard from CCCS by now too.
Just got an email today to say that I haven't been accepted for AQA. Awe well, more time to waste chatting on here. :rotfl:
Made my first payment. The scoundrel in the PO charged me £2.20 for the privilege. Therefore I'll be setting up a DD or posting a cheque.0 -

Next were easy to deal with, i just sent them the template letter and then yesterday i recieved a letter saying that they were pleased to be able to accept the payments!! They have frozen interest and as long as they get the payment on time(from CCCS) then they will continue not to charge interest or anything. Didn't even get a phonecall!!
I have a CC with the Halifax but haven't heard anything from them yet.
How long was it before creditors started to contact you??

As far as I knew lump payments should be spread pro-rata between all creditors. Paying off only one can upset the others, as they know who you are paying because they see your budget information.
They may re-instate interest and start hassling for payments againNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
oops - really? Ignore me then
The man from CCCS said that I would be better doing it that way although CCCS official line is to spread it across them all.

Hi Gemm
When I earn extra money at work (estimated £1000 a week , worst week Ive had £445, best week £2000) I am planning to pay off bits and pieces and hopefully leave a black bank balance at the end of every month. At the mo though I have to find another £300 for a holiday which Ive already paid £1600 towards - so wont be cancelling it or will lose the money! (Hardly moneysaving!!!)

My situation is:
Hellifax CC - 15 calls per day which I am ignoring. Should I answer them, give them the CCCS ref number and tell them to go away in the meantime?
Barclaycard - 1 nice letter saying they would suspend interest until 28 Feb and await CCCS
Egg Card - email to say they would await CCCS
Cahoot - said they would await info from CCCS
Next - no contact other than nasty letters
Argos - no contact other than nasty letters
GE Capital (2 cards) - sending statements. Advised on phone that CCCS would be involved
Good to hear you got on well with Next. I believe Barclays are easy to deal with and have read that Cahoot are ok too. I'm most worried about Hellifax and Egg. Worried about GE too but what I owe them is a drop in the ocean in comparison to Hellifax and Egg.0 -
Oh I just got car insurance. Current insurer quoted £450. Got it from Direct Line for £297 and £65 cashback via Quidco. Well pleased about that.0

This is a really daft question but I'll ask it anyway. :rotfl:
I have 2 catalogues. I don't owe either of them a penny which is a surprise as I owe to the rest of the world. :rotfl: Anyway I'm wondering is it ok to use the monthly clothing allowance that CCCS have set to buy from there? I know technically it's credit and you aren't supposed to get more credit but in a way it would keep me away from shops. We aren't talking major stuff here, just the odd pair of trousers for work when necessary.0 -
Golddigger you should be debt free pretty quickly if you keep it up at work. :T0
