joek - who are your bank at the mo!

Maybe you should start a new thread about this as you may get some replies that could help more than me!

    Barclays.

I find it highly ironic that on the letter they've sent me, they actually advise me to speak to CCCS about this (as one of the people they recommend!).

    !!!!!!s.

Still, I've suddenly realised that I do have an old(ish) Halifax Savings account hidden away (probably only a pound or so in there, but I don't recall them sending me a letter stopping the account), so I'll pop into Halifax tomorrow and see if it's still open. Maybe for a month I can divert my salary into there!

Otherwise, I may be in a bit of trouble.

Hee-Hee. Few calls to make tomorrow then!

No point letting it get me down though - doesn't help much really, and things usually pan out okay in the end! Just a bit of pain to go through at first, I suppose!

Right, I'll see what reponses I get from you guys and the creditors tomorrow!

    Night all.

    Hi guys,

Teecee - keep smiling poppet. Hope the MOT isn't too costly tomorrow, let us know.

Joek - that's a sticky situation. The problem is, even if you manage to get an account open in time (usually takes approx 2 weeks) it's unlikely your company will change the account details in time. My work need 3-4 weeks to do that... why?! I'm in the same boat this month, just opened new account but won't be transferred this time. Had to borrow money from flatmate (bad I know) to pay minimum overdraft charge to keep it ticking over until it's all sorted out. Maybe you could call your payroll dept at work and get them to give you a cheque instead this month? Worth a try. Let me know how you get on.

Nice to hear from the rest of you guys. Welcome to our new friends. Sorry not got time to go through everyone individually - there are so many of us now!

I'm okay I guess. Just riding the calm before the storm. Life is so busy that I don't have time to worry about all of this - but I still do (does that make sense?). My body keeps sending me to sleep, even during the day. Think it might be a coping mechanism to get my brain to switch off, as it is whizzing non-stop at the moment. Anyone else finding this.

    Speak soon :rolleyes2

P.S. Thanks for the competition website reccommendation - it will be my weekend entertainment!!

Thanks guys. Smile - good advice there - I'll speak to them to see if they can cut me a cheque if necessary!

Well, these things are merely small trials. Life wouldn't be any fun without these things, would it!

    UPDATE:

Well, I phoned Citibank just now, and they have told me that I have been approved for an account! Which is very good (and not a little suprising). However, untill I see my welcome pack I'm not going to count my chickens.

But that's a positive start to the day!

Joek, can you get the money put into the account of a partner, relative or trusted friend? Just until you get confirmation of your new bank account?

Hi Lonely, that's probably what I'll need to do if things get sticky. No post from Citibank yet though (I waited in to see) - bloody phone line bill though - not being taken out until 26th March though, so I should be okay...

JoeK, hope you get something sorted. If need be use that Halifax account. At least your whole salary will be in one place and you can withdraw it in cash.

Lonely, good you got work sorted.

Yes Smilealot I'm like that too.

Just bought my house insurance from Direct Line through Quidco. The premium is half what I was paying plus I'll get £85 cashback.

    Hello to everyone else.

Smilealot - I'm exactly the same, only I find I can't sleep as my brain just won't stop going over and over things even when I'm trying not to get worked up about it all.

i'm sure it will get better, after all I couldn't possibly feel any worse than I did before having my LBM and finding this site. At that time I felt so desperate and alone that nothing could be worse!!!
