New Dmp Mutal Support Thread

Hi Everyone
I'm new to this particular thread altho' have been on the site since we had our lightbulb moment in January and I posted I think last week when I was having a particularly bad day and got lots of lovely support and cyber hugs from peeps here.
Today is another bad day - Warrior have sent us their default notice and say they WILL issue court proceedings which is really worrying and they keep ringing up and I just feel totally harrassed - I'm now ignoring their calls which I'm not sure is a good idea but just can't face them as they just say the same old stuff over and over and don't listen to "We haven't got any money to give you".
Do they think you do all this for fun?
YB have responded and on the whole they do seem to be at least listening to what we and Paypal are saying and haven't threatened us with anything nasty (yet).
Citi spoke to my DH last week and asked for more money which we explained we didn't have and they were actually okay (altho' we've had nothing in writing so they could be saving up a nasty surprise for us).
No news from MBNA, Next, Egg or Halifax as to what they are going to do next.
Our first payment has gone out and been distributed to our creditors which I feel happier about altho' I am still feeling really sick to my stomach and the thought of court proceedings is truly terrifying!
Anyway, thanks for listening! TFUDFW Nerd # 305

Just checking in.
Totallyfedup, I have Hellifax, Next and Egg as creditors. All 3 of accepted so I'm sure you will be fine. Hellifax tortured me a million times a day and Next were a bit nasty but I got there in the end.0 -
Maybe we should get a master list together of creditors and our experiences with them when doing a DMP for the benefit of newbies joining this thread?
Egg - very helpful, went through budget on the phone and they accepted pro-rated payments for both the loan and the credit cad.
Halifax - they took their time a bit but were fine once they had a reference number from National Debtline who gave us a little advise in the early stages, we ordered one of their packs which generates a number for you.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for this thread. Currently struggling to pay debts (although no defaults yet).
Am really scared about phone calls and hassle from creditors, let alone bailiffs!
If I do my own DMP will they accept?
Anyone any experience of Mint, First Direct and GE Money?
Any tips on whether to try it myself or whether to just go straight to Payplan?
If OH pays some things in full and I pay others, can I just list my stuff on my DMP or do I have to halve everything or list everything???working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
go thru payplan/cccs, I think it makes it easier, and it does feel like a problem shared etc0

Thanks. It's just trying to get up the courage to go through it with someone over the phone. One debt at a time is one thing but the whole entire embarrassing amount in one go?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Newleywed, I have 2 accounts with GE Money. I owe about £500 on each. One has accepted £5 per month and I'm waiting to hear from the other. They are a bit of a nightmare as you can never seem to ring them as it's all automated systems.
I'm with CCCS. I initially had contacted Hellifax asking them to take £50 per month for a while until I got back on my feet. They said they couldn't and that I should go with CCCS or Payplan. The result is that they are now getting £22 per month. I had contact Cahoot too and the said the same.0 -
Newlywed, you don't have to phone CCCS, you can do it online. I'm not sure about Payplan.0
