Thanks. I filled in the Payplan review form with my details etc and they sent an email saying they prefer you to ring to go through person to person and please ring them.
I'll definitely check out CCCS then, thanks.
I just feel like such a stupid idiot that at 30-something I'll be crying on the phone to a stranger because I've been stupid and took various consolidation loans and still ran up too much credit.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Newlywed - I was in the same boat. I did put off for a while as the whole thing was so scary and admitting just how much of a mess you are in to someone else just made everything so much more real.
It was the right thing to do tho' and I'm not ashamed to say when I was asked for my kids details I started crying becos' I felt I had failed them totally!
I think whatever company you use you'll be asked to speak to someone to confirm everything - account numbers and balances etc. It's not an easy phone call but you do feel better for doing it.
The sooner you get the ball rolling, the sooner you can start making your payments to your creditors which makes you feel better. I can now say I AM dealing with my debts, I've got a bloody long way to go but it's a start and we all have to start somewhere!
Good luck!DFW Nerd # 305

Proud to be dealing with my debits although I have to admit I am scared half to death at how big a mess we are in.  Don't think I will EVER forgive myself for being so stupid!0 -

Hi everyone
WELCOME NEWLYWED!!
When I first called CCCS I was a total state, I had been trying to hide it for so long and when i actually had to admit it (to myself and others) i was in floods of tears. The lady I spoke to was fantastic and asked if I was ok, and did I want to ring back when I felt better.
The people at CCCS are fantastic. They always listen to you and are so helpful. I am sure they have heard much worse than anything you could tell them so don't be ashamed you are doing the right thing, and getting on board with CCCS will really, really help.
Good Luck

Glad to hear all is fine and nothing nasty received.
Same here, I haven't heard a thing from anyone since i rang them all last week. Hoping cap 1 got the paperwork eventually but think i'll leave it till the end of the week then phone them.
I've got a stinking cold now, so will face them when i'm feeling better.
Does anyone know where smilealot has gone?? Hope she's ok.
Take Care

Hi everyone...Welcome Newleywed ! ! !
Lloyds and HSBC have finally acknowledged our Payplan figures and they are the last ones. !!
I had a really nasty letter from Lloyds today ( Dated last Monday ) and I called Payplan this morning. They told me they would call me later after looking into it. They did and said that Lloyds and HSBC have accepted.
This has been helped on by the Financial Ombudsman I am sure. It is strange that as soon as they get involved, the calls IMMEDIATELY stopped and the loose ends were wrapped up.
So if you are still on that road to getting the creditors to accept and they are not being very nice to you, sorry being pains in the !!! !, call the Financial Ombudsman..they work wonders.
And I have been offered a goodwill payment from Lloyds of £750 in part payment of my £1900 bank charges that I want refunded....I am still on their tails and the Ombudsman are still dealing with that one !
Anyway, off to work on my last four nights....speak very soon

Hi all,
So pleased to hear the good news some are having and I hope the post brings ONLY good news tomorrow! I haven't got anything today but am feeling more relaxed about it now.
Upped my olympic challenge target - so feeling good about that. Just want to get cracking with paying off the debt but need to have a smaller target I think - the challenge is good for that, but I might start putting aside part of the challenge money towards a particular debt (even if I only end up giving it to CCCS to distribute, it's good motivation and psychological boost for me).
My OH is making hungry noises at me now so better go and cook something now.

Don't know whether I should say anything cause I know we're all struggling but this is about support and I feel completely ignored. Was feeling sooo down yesterday when I posted and received no acknolwedgment at all which made me feel one hundred times worse - thought I could rely on you guys!? Feeling better today but feel have to let you know - I'm sure it wasn't deliberate -or perhaps it was and I'm out of the loop .... please god no!!
On the plus side glad to hear lots of positive noises and good things happening for many. Lets hope we all moving the right way. Love to you all.
