Positive thinking is a good thought. I thought I was going to crack up a couple of weeks ago. Felt awful for two or three days but much happier now. This thread helps a lot and having a dmp, well almost, is meaning less expense and not having to try to find enough to pay the min. each month. Ph. calls have stopped for the moment which helps too.
I have made the mistake, I think of paying a couple of hefty mins. very recently when I should have offered very small amounts. Felt guilty at the time which is why I paid. Am only going to pay tiny amounts if any as money has already gone to Payplan last week. Bank staff do seem to vary in their approach. I rang Monument this morning and they were happy for me not to pay anything as money has gone to Payplan whereas Morgan Stanley the other day wanted full min. payment. They got half which was plenty.
Oh well we live and learn.

Hi everyone.
YM - I also received forms from tax credits today. Glad to hear DD's on the mend.
AMANI - Great news about Halifax.
Just to let you all know I phoned Barclays and I can withdraw upto £1000 from my account over the counter so I will withdraw all my wages on payday so they don't take it to pay back loan arrears.
I received a letter from Citi Cards today saying that before they can accept me on their reduced payment programme I need to pay amount offered by CCCS within 7 working days. If I fail to make this payment this could result in withdrawal of payment programme offer. I can afford to make this payment so not a problem but they will receive 2 payments this month if I do this. I will ring CCCS in the morning to see what they think but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions.:j PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS :jPiggy points - 155

Dr Jekyll - Glad to hear you are feeling much happier now. I think we all have good and bad days. Some days it doesn't bother me at all but the next day I feel really stressed out about it all. I will feel relieved when my first payment reaches creditors on 25th (only 11 days to go)!!:j PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS :jPiggy points - 155

Evening all!
I've promised myself (AGAIN) that I will not chat on here until I've started some work, but I've just had a massive panic... I decided to bid on an outfit for my pupils' leaving prom (so American - yuck) and my friends' wedding. Anyway, I wanted to put in a maximum bid of £21.00, but I typed a comma instead of a full stop, so they max bid is £2,100!!!!! I'm laughing so much, but what should I do to retract it?!
Glad to hear of all the good news today. I'm pleased for you all.
I wasn't too cranky today, just the usual Monday feeling. V v tired tonight though. Thanks for the lovely compliment Dr Jekyll. It means a lot to hear things like that, especially when your working in a challenging school. Out of interest, why did you leave teaching?
Anyway, hope you are all well. I'd be so grateful for any advice regarding my Ebay disaster!

Welcome all.
DMP is by far the best thing I have ever done to sort out my finances. I feel life is better now as i don't have so much to worry about.
Just booked a weekend in Spain (friend getting married) Room was £11.00 a night! Roughing it a bit at that price, still I guess it’s only a place to crash at the end of the night. Just gotta find flights now.

Hello everybody
Yellowmonkey: I hope you DD feels better soon!
Bowz25, Rainbow and all newbies: Welcome to the forum!
Ankle shaggers: Now that is what i call holidaying money saving expert style.
HardleyLisa: I received a similar letter from A&L credit card saying that if they would accept the DMP but the payment needed to be received by the 15th of the month. Now I know that the CCCS don't pay the payment until the 25th of the month. I will have to give the CCCS a ring and find out what to do. Oh well I just keep plodding along.
As i said before I have had my first creditor accept my DMP. Thank goodness. I haven't had any phonecalls tonight which is novel. So thanks to Craftingqueens post for the letter I sent to all my creditors asking them to stop ringing me at home and at work.
This thread just keeps growing and growing I am finding it more and more difficult just to keep up. It is such a good feeling though that there are over 3000 posts of support to people that we have never even met.
Take care everyone- Sweety:wall: Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow!!!

Anyone having a problem with HSBC? They're credit card side have accepted my DMP no problem, but I have a loan and a current account with them (which is overdrawn) and the current account side have rejected the plan, and I can't get the loan side to reply to my letters. Anyone else having similar things with the different depts?

Hi dont know if HSBC work the same, but i was in the same position with [STRIKE]Nastywest[/STRIKE]Natwest;) ,i had current account which was overdrawn and loan with them also a credit card, credit card agreed to dmp straight away, but the other two ballances were eventually added together and i was given one new account number, which is the account dmp pay.
It took a while to sort this out, but they agreed to payments once this was sorted.
Hope that helps.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0
