My sister has a thing for xxx mints, she is on about 10 packets a day and getting withdrawal symtoms. Her local post office gets them in by the box for her!

SHe started on them when giving up ciggies, turns out it is costing her more in mints than in ciggies lol

at least shes got lovely ,fresh breath!!!:rotfl:

  • Hi all and a big welcome to all the newbies
my you've all been busy! I just don't get on here often enough now -work, uni, family etc, etc - I'm sure you all know the score!! Well, as promised, received the default letter from HSBC cc today!! Will post it off to CCCS tomorrow, along with letter two to HSBC for bank charges - still no news!!!! DH opened the letters from HSBC re, cc and default and hasn't mentioned them so I was right thinking he'd rather not know - which is fine - the debt is all mine and I'm much happier dealing with them on my own (honest :p )!! Glad things are moving along for everybody, I hope the creditors don't start pushing for CCJ's  (don't care about the credit rating just couldn't bear more anxiety)!! Anyway must dash! Keep in touch!!
Big thanks you're all still keeping me sane!
    love and hugs

    Hellloooooooooooooooooo! :D

I fell asleep just after I posted earlier, woke up four hours later!! Also spoken to an old mate so feeling brighter now. I've decided just to get my head down, work hard, save hard, so that any time I do set aside for me (very little with my blooming job) I can enjoy it. I've always got the idea of moving back in my head. I think if I could get rid of that I'd get on much better. Oh well.

Also just wish this DMP was properly sorted out so I could move on from it. I feel like it's taking ages. Obviously still keep paying it - you know what I mean!! Think I'd somewhat fallen off the wagon (not big style). Couldn't be bothered to do my Pigsback or whatever. I need to hop stright back on :j

amani - thanks for the advice. Hope you're okay.

rusty - well done on the charges. I thinking of starting that battle v soon.

    ILGD
    - enjoy your time with your OH, well deserved.

    Teecee
    - hello! Thanks for the PM.

    Joek
    - it's so lovely to hear from you. I've missed you too! I've made a new resolution to keep popping in here because it keeps me sane. Think I need to start some fun topics of banter too.... I'll get my thinking cap on. I love all your hippy stuff, you should start you're own commune (I nearly wrote harem - of course, teecee and I would be knocking at your door if that was the case :rotfl: )

I know, I'll tell you my new fav joke (maybe a bit dirty for some peoples' taste - sorry if so!):

There are three sisters: Ann, Jan & Fanny. They all have big feet. Ann & Jan go on a date, and one of the boys says "Jesus, you have big feet!". Ann replies "You should see our Fanny's - they're huge!"

rayday - she'd better be careful about her teeth, apparently mints are bad for rotting them if eaten too often (and I think 10 packets a day would fall into that category!!!). Bought any lottery tickets for tomorrow's Euromillions?

    Hi everyone
Not been on for a couple of days and there are about 6 or 7 pages to read. They'll have to wait for another time as I have already spent ages on the pc going through over 300 emails:eek: . I'm a moderator on one of the freecycle sites so get all these emails asking to approve posts then get the actual post email too!!

On the down side of things DH had a bump in his taxi yesterday. Hardly any damage to it but the other car (driving instructor with learner driver at the wheel) was a small car and its rear end is damaged big time. He was only doing about 5 miles an hour as it was from a standing start at a junction but the learner driver wasn't pulling out as quickly as he thought they were. His fault although the instructor apologised. Anyway if we can find £250 by tuesday to repair the minor damage to the taxi the taxi company will cover the insurance excess however if he waits on the insurance company paying out then he has to pay the full excess of £1500:eek: So £250 it is then.

On the plus side it made him pull his finger out re his car insurance. He has a classic car which he bought to do up and he sorned it about 4 months ago but he has still been paying the insurance - no point as it ain't going anywhere - so he finally got round to cancelling that so that will save £18 a month plus they are returning £10.50. I can't see us finding the money to do it up for a long time so it may end up a rustbucket just taking up space on the drive. He has done this before and bought a car to do up. Gave it to a guy to fit engine parts he wasn't happy doing and the guy did a runner with the parts. Went to get the car to take elsewhere and found there was less of it than he had started with so ended up scrapping it. I will be so p'ed off if that happens again as the money he used to buy it (£400) could have gone towards finishing off everything that still needs done in this house.

Hope everyone is doing okay just now and will try and catch up over the weekend. Trying to only log on every other day as I end up spending so long on here.:rotfl:

Hi everyone Ive just come across this thread, its great in a not so great kind of way ;) but its nice to know Im not alone. I have started a DMP with CCCS sent of all the paperwork last week, does anyone know how long it takes them to sort it out? Im worried its not going to sort itself out, I guess thats normal?

Because I cant meet the minimum payments and until they sort the DMP out CCCS said to send a token payment and the letter they gave me to my creditors. Do I have to send my own letter as well or can I just bung a cheque in the post with like £5?! Is £5 too little btw??

  • quick question - cccs need min £100 spare per month to run a dmp otherwise they recommended bankruptcy for me. Does anyone know what the minimum Payplan need to run a DMP?
I cannot pay nearly as much as before now now that I have to pay HSBCs CCJ. - Two options I can see.
    1. DIY fingers crossed and Offer very little to other debtors until CCJ paid
    2. Find £100 to get CCCS handling it - less stress as its I'm officially in trouble but it puts my household budget on edge if interest rates go up.
    3. Try and get a rate amendment on the CCJ

    any thoughts appreciated.

Do your own DMP you do not need minimum payments I owe a lot see below and pay £40 a month.

I use the national debt helplines letters and payment calculator all of which you can download today and start. They also are at the end of a phone and I have rung once and they were absolutely fab.

    Hope that helps a little.

    forgot to say,
newleywed....there are some codes for free del from asda on the freestuff.co.uk/discount codes website.got an email today.hope its some use.xx

Thanks. I try and avoid asda usually as OH's ex works there and her OH. They'd probably spit in the food and stamp on everything - even though it was her that ran off with another bloke but she still seems set to wreck our lives because OH is happy now ;)
