Yeah and that day is half an hour away0

I am really worried now reading some posts.
I have been doing my own DMP with the use of letters from National Debt Helpline - we started in June last year and the last one finally accepted in January this year and I got some of the charges refunded back into the account on that one.
Thing I am asking is that quite a few of you seem to be facing CCJ's is this after you have had accepted payments on DMP or is it with companies that never accepted lower payments? Also some of my companies are still with the originals like Lloyds - can they then make me go to court after settling on a DMP or do they just pass to debt collection agencies.
Also if you have a debt collection agency and they accept payments and you always make them on time can they do CCJ's?
Sorry don't understand the CCJ system and really don't fancy itscarey stuff!
I would also like to know the answers to these questions, ANYONE???????????0 -
MORNING EVERYONE
Hope you are all good.
SIMLE sorry to hear about you feeling down, im sure it will get better soon.
NEWLYWED sorry to hear about the car. what happened to that bonus you were hoping to get another car with? are you sure you have left yourseleves enough money to live on, you sound like your really struggling. I have my shopping delivered with Tesco, they have changed there delivery charges and depending what day and time of day you have it delivered the charges are different. i have mine on Monday at 1pm/3pm £4.75. It easier for me with a 1yr and 2yr olds, I used to get a taxi back with the shopping, that was £5.50 2yrs ago.0 -

Morning all.
Sorry absolutely no idea! Not a clue about those. But would also like to know.
Smilealot, yeah it is a nightmare. Worked out how much buses and taxis etc will cost and it works out about £300 a month!!!! That isn't in my DMP - only petrol and car expenses . So if we don't get another car, we can't afford to eat next month
The council reckon everyone should be using public transport as it's greener, economical ???? etc. Yeah? Try it. Two buses to work taking over an hour -v- 25 mins in a car. Let alone food shopping, B&Q and all the other stuff people need to do!!!!
I'm so tired already and have to walk 20 mins just to go and get some bread and bits at lunchtime, then carry it 20 mins home.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Newlywed we posted at the same time.
have you started your DMP yet? I think you should give CCCs(thats who you are with yes?) and explain the sittuation, if you have not started yet see if you can delay for a month, if that will help you get a cheap car. What do you think?0 -

The bonus was wishful thinking.
I work full time and am out two evenings, with that and picking up the kids etc shopping delivery time can be tricky. It usually means a Saturday afternoon which used to mean that we'd have to wait for delivery before doing anything for the afternoon (as I was the only one insured to drive).
We would have been fine if we'd still had the car. There is a chance we can get another one (OH's brother has an old one sat doing nothing). But need to arrange tax and insurance on it before we can drive it 30 miles home.
Have just made enough on ebay to cover 6 months car tax, we're waiting to hear more about it and then going to try and get over there to see it.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
HI NEWLYWED
GOOD LUCK with the car. It takes my DH an hour and 2 buses to get to work and costs a fortune and takes him 15mins in a car (gets a lift sometimes). Hes taking his driving test soon, should be able to buy a car with his overtime, (if he passes) but we only put down public transport costs on the DMP and we would have the cost of running a car if we got one. wonder what CCCs would say to that, do you think they would think it was uneccessary?
PS. any advice welcome0 -

I don't know. They didn't query my car costs at all. To be honest monthly we have £30 insurance (third party, fire & theft), £15 for the tax (but if you get something lower than a 1.5l car it's less), and then £100 petrol a month (which we hardly ever spend - usually about £70 for us a month).
Plus the £20 a month recommended for servicing (although I think this is slightly on the low side if you have an older car, eg a windscreen cost me £100, two new tyres cost me £75). My dad is a mechanic though so I do get other mechanical work done cheaper.
So my allowance for the car per month is £175. Buses cost the two of us £45 a week, plus the kids, plus taxis as some journeys (to collect kids) aren't on bus route, plus shopping delivery fee. Overall I think it's about £90+ a week on travel!! Instead of £175 a month (plus repairs)??? Even if we had £180 repair bill each month (highly unlikely) it would still work out even!!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Update - Muppets at Debtmanagers received the payment but didn't call the dogs (Call Serve ) limited off. Its sorted now.....good news for anyone contacted by Call serve. - the online contact page works. - they got my email via the website to hold action until i checked payment. so for anyone afraid of the phone - it will give you a bit of breathing space...

hi all,
just checking in.having to linit my time on here cos its addictive and the houseworks going to pot(lifes too short anyway!!!)
amani and rayday2........re the ccjs.already got one to first nat(absolute ****s)who got the ccj payments and then add the interest on cos they can by using an obsure law, till its paid off ,so i keep paying £2monthly and theres sod all they can do till the ccjs paid off.did put the payments up to £5 but they were hassling me so told them i was paying the £2 and nothing them could do.(a small victory for me)
anyway i digress as per...even on a dmp the creditor can take you to court at any time cos you arnt paying the correct original payment.mostly they just sell your debt on to a dca for peanuts. then depending which you get(god forbid its nationwide from what ive read on here)they accept it for years and may sell it on tto another dca or offer you a full and final figure which means yours debts paid but its on your cred file for 6 yeaRS.
some would not accept the dmp(but best to send the monthly payments anyway cos it looks better when you go to court) and issue defaults then soliciters letters threatening court action.after this they either take you to court or sell your debt to a dca depending on the debt amount or any kind of reason like they are having a bad day, etc.
ive had dmps with 2 dcas since 1996 which ive lumped in to my cccs dmp and they just accept the payments.i had 2 a/cs with a company who sold them to 2 diff dcas and 1 gave me a really good f+f and 1 were complete ***s!so who knows how they mind works.
i must say that i think i have a better caes now im with cccs instead of my own dmp cos cccs seem to have more clout, especially in court.
think ill get a ccj from mint cos i owe£5601 and am paying £5 monthly so it will take 93 years to pay(at least i can come back to haunt them!!),cccs think the court will accept the £5 but put a charge on my house, but as im not moving till i win the lottery(??!!!)dont think it will affect me that much.
sorry this post is mega long but hope ive answered a few questions as honest and knowledgeable as i can.feel free to ask if not sure.
to the rest of the gang......hope all is good.postie been good to me again.
regards,xxPeople bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with
