    Greetings.

newlywed Sorry to hear about your car. I do not know how i would cope. You are doing well.

    ida Great news well done.:T

teecee have a nice break down in Devon. Lovely part of the country.

    lonelytoo Welcome to the gang.

Nothing to report today only the fact that i have been keeping my old credit cards but today plucked up the courage to cut them up :j :j :j

All quite at the moment. Sun is shining, dinner to do and then have windows open and loud music on whilst i strip kitchen walls ready for decorating. I really do not enjoy painting and wallpapering. Funny really as i was a painter and decorator for 15 years and have an apprentiship. Like my mum said make sure you have a trade and then you have that to fall back on. Never know may come in handy again one day.

    Enjoy the day

OH doesn't know how we will cope either, I'm just determined not to look at this for the long term but just to deal with this week and then see what happens. It is hard work though, just the extra time to get too and from work and the extra walking is tiring. It's when we have to collect/return the kids by taxi (tonight, tomorrow eve and Friday eve) and when we have them at the weekend and they realise they have to walk or bus everywhere that will be difficult.

Hopefully a bargain car will suddenly "turn up" somewhere easy for us to get to!! ;)

If they want everyone to be more green and use public transport, why does it cost £45 just for one week's bus travel for two people???? Let alone shopping delivery costs? How do they expect families to afford that and more every week???

  • fingers crossed for you Newly wed.

I'm absolutely fed up this morning.
I've had a ccj threat from Call serve/Debtmanagers by post.
after setting up a standing order last month that paid on 1 april and i know it did cos i checked on line that it was in place. I couldn't get through on the phone - damned if i'm waiting on 0870 /0845 for ages again. so I sent a note via their website contact saying please call me tonight (if I don't get there first) as they have no fax contact number.

I just cannot cope anymore with keeping on top of the DCAs - I need now to rebudget for CCJ payment to see what payment offers i can make to the rest and I have to get professional help with my disentangling my mortgage as there is a unsecured loan attached to it (NR together)

Who would be better CCCS or Payplan to sort this out?

I've just had all my paperwork through from CCCS, they advice me to cancel all my DD's I have to my creditors and inform them. I've done this apart from the DD for my loan as I can just about afford to cover this each month is it worth keeping the DD in place until the DMP starts? All advice is greatfully received.

Hi onamission. Sorry you are fed up. Can't help much with your problem but I know there is someone on here (think it might be greatdanes) that switched from their own DMP to CCCS or PP and said it was easier as they just had one payment to keep track of.

Craigy, I cancelled mine so I will miss one payment when my DMP starts with CCCS (as it should go out on 1st, same day as payment to CCCS). But waited before I cancelled the things for the bank I held my account at, until I had my new account in place.

    Hi..

Just recieved email from Tesco. If I spend £50 online shopping I get £15 off. Has anyone else recieved one of these because ,although i do not normally do my shopping online, even with delivery taken into account i could save myself £10.

Hope it is ok and not a phishing email. Looks Kosher enough.

  • hi all,
just checking in.letter from mint soliciters threatening court, etc if they dont get £5601.52 in the next 7 days.fat chance is all i can say!!!!more hance of plaiting fog!called cccs and thay said not to panic and they are just tying to scare me.(worked for a while, especially when oh saw it!)

onamission........i was on my own dmp since 1996 and still had some of them now, so told cccs and informed them im on a dmp with cccs and they have been no trouble, just accepted it cos they know im beyond hope!they kept trying to up the repayments all the time and threatening me but now they know im with a recognised big gun(!) they are ok.
the thing i didnt like when doing my own dmp was having to take lots of giros to the bank to pay at different times of the month and if i forgot or was late they would give me hassle.also i had to keep foning the0870 nos to get new paying in slips and it always gave them a chance to grill me for more dosh.
now i have one dd out of the bank and cccs distribute it to them all.cccs are really great and i just listed all my debts, old and new and they worked out the rata paymemts for me.the only other payment i make is a ccj cos cccs dont have anything to do with them.hope it helps.

craigh....i would stop the dd for the loan and send a token cheque payment to them .even if you can afford it this month it would have been the last anyway.i would save the money for something unexpected while you are on your dmp or start a little savings a/c with it.
sorry if its a long post.hope everyone is good.
welcome lonelytoo........think i spoke to you on another thread.been to the rest now youve come to the best!!!!!
    regards to all.xx

Hi all, just got another "private number" call. Claimed to be mint. I said nope the number you give isn't mint. They said they are on behalf of Mint. So not mint at all? No but mint asked us to call you. And you want me to give you my security information? No, I'll ring Mint customer services. OK. Then ten minutes later they rang again. and again.

So I rang mint. They don't know if it is them. Girl said she wouldn't give that info either and I did the right thing ringing the number on my statement. Could have been them as I'm over my limit - do I want to make payment. I said I have written to let them know I'm starting a DMP with CCCS. She said it can take 7 days or so for letters to go through the system. She has made a note and was very nice.

So far 2 credit cards telephone conversations.
Both fine. The main thing I was dreading was the phone calls!!!

Hope the others are ok too.

To those just starting (like me). Not all the phone calls are as bad as you expect!! Guess it probably depends on the person you get and what kind of day they're having. ;)
