    Hi Ankle Welcome aboard!:hello:

craftingqueen I would think that as long as you keep up your payments to the Nationwide they would be quite likely to renew the arrangement. They just want to be sure they will get their money, it is in their best interests to accept the DMP, at least that way they get their money back albeit over a long period of time.

  • Thanks teecee

Think i'm gonna have a dig around in the shed tomorrow, i'm sure there's tons of stuff that will never be of any use to me. Sell, sell, sell!
  • Hi there. Recently had my light bulb moment at the reasonable total of 13 grand and started an IVA. Then I was told 13k just didn't cut it for an IVA and a DMP was my way forward. That took a long long time and for those who care my situation is:

    Overdraft Total outstanding = 1959.42
    Barclaycard - Total outstanding = 3883.58
Capital One Credit card - Total outstanding = 2559.55
    Nationwide Loan: 6751.50
    Nationwide Current Account: 110.00

    Grand total: 15, 264.05

I hope you can appreciate that the above discrepancy means i've gained about 2k in charges whilst waiting for these guys to do their jobs. Basically i'm just wondering if, once the DMP is set up, can I still claim back the charges? Obviously anything they agree to pay back would just go to lessening the debt and i'm cool with that. My DMP 'expert' has told me I can't but fails to provide any reasoning and to be honest I think he's a bit of a muppet.

Anyway excuse my newbie rambling and if anyone can spare some time to give me some real advice I will be very, very grateful.

    Hi mrwells and welcome
Who is your dmp with? You can claim back your charges even while on dmp. Are you with a feepating company? If so take a look at https://www.cccs.co.uk or https://www.payplan.com. They both do FREE dmp's so ALL your money goes to your debtors and they don't have 'muppets' working for them. They are all really good people who don't judge you at all. Neither do we here.

TeeceeNationwide started off being really awful and unhelpful to hubby. But i suppose it's who you talk to,just have to wait , for payplan to give Nationwide their share and see if they will except it......

There is certainly no harm in writing and complaining that you think they have dragged there feet in order to put more charges on the account. I wrote with a list of all the communications and offers of payments I had made and lists of the cheques and cheque numbers I had sent and quite a few did refund a little or at the very least finally accepted reduced payments, it only costs a stamp - second class stamp with me too I am very tight! I also pointed out that I was following a charities payment plan which the company sponsored and that any courts would frown on the company for taking so long to come to a decision. I also threatened to take them to ombudsman.

SO now you know how much of an argumentive cow I am lol I just hate injustice to anyone but especially me!

Good luck and give it ago!

It is very easy to feel down, even though you are doing your best it can still feel hard. There are times when I realise I have probably 15 years of letters, arguments and offer payments. But its important to take it one step at a time otherwise it is very upsetting.

You sent your first cheque I make that one cheque less!
  • hi all,
just thought id catch up with everyone.
welcome to all the newbies.im much better today.postie just bought junk so, no news is good news!
i symathise with mrwells1921.will be glad when the creditors realise i can only pay what cccs have offered and stop the charges.at least then ill know how much i really owe then i can start to see the debt go down instead of up!!!only thing thats really getting me mad is oh keeps buying on ebay and not going through quidco so i can get some dosh back.
men.....never mind.i havent bought anything for ages, youll be glad to know.getting into the "buy something and pay it off completely before getting something else!"
have kept my gus catalogue a/c so that if i need anything major then ill be ok.but no silly purchases anymore like i used to.at last i am questioning my need for "things".if any of you were former shopaholics im sure youll know that feeling very well.so thats a major step for me.
hope all goes well for you all today.regards,xx
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)
