    Hi everyone

Hi to all the newbies hopefully you'll get the answers to all your questions here. Well maybe not all but certainly any dmp related:rotfl:

Very quiet couple of days here. No nasty mail and two nsd's in a row. That is good going. And there is £6 left from last weeks budget so that seems to be working too. Could really be doing a Costco shop but that will probably have to wait a couple more weeks. Have run out of vinegar and buying the little bottles just isn't very DFWish. We still have enough meat to last about a month but have no fish left either. We only use Costco for meat, fish, vinegar, vanish, washing powder and dishwasher tabs and usually fit going in with a visit to my parents who live about an hour and a half away from Costco. Costco is an hour and a half away from us so it is uneconomical to make a special trip just to Costco. Usually try and visit folks for a weekend then go in past costco on the way home on the Sunday but weekends are not so easy now as DS has martial arts on the saturday and as they are paid for by direct debit I don't want him not to go as they are quite expensive. I think the kids have a couple of in service days coming up soon. We could go then I suppose.

Gosh this was just supposed to be a quick post but I rabbitted on a bit there. Sorry about that.

  • Hi everyone, just found this site, was going out of my mind with worry about my debts.
I'm on my second month of a DMP with CCCS and hopeful.
  • Hey guys,

Been looking here or about a month, thought it was about time i sign up. First of all, thanks for all the advice and tips. Been very helpful. Made first CCCs payment 1st April and so far only had slight prob with beneficial finance (hsbc group) who have accepted a reduced amount for a limited time. Not sure what happens when this time finishes, guess i will have to cross this bridge when it comes.

Excuse the user name, DS said it to a friend who had 3/4 length trousers on & i found it very amusing!

  • Hi everyone,

welcome to all the newbies. We are all in the same boat here no one will judge. The post was ok today, had two phone calls from Nationwide yesterday.
Today we had one, again the caller was from Nationwide. She was acknowledging that we are with payplan etc..and that she will stop the calls from them for two weeks until they hear from payplan. Here's hoping they will be our first to accept????

Answered the phone today to GE money. Told them no I can't make payment but have sent them a cheque and am contacting CCCS. They were quite nice, told me that action will continue until an agreement is reached.

Answered the phone to "Private number" they said they are mint. I said how do I know that, you are coming up as a private number. She said ok ring this 0870 number. I did and nothing was said about mint - it's credit card services. So I said well a private number told me to ring and that you were mint, but you don't say that. She said we are Mint RBS and Natwest, but if you want to make sure ring the number on your card.

So I've cut up my card already so I rang the 24 hour customer service number on the statement and they say they close at 6pm !!!!

Edit: sorry hello to everyone and welcome to all the new peeps!

One company I did ring once if you rang the number on the letter it apparently was always busy but if you leave your number they would ring back!

Weird that! They never got my number nor a phone call from me again.

GE MOney is one my husband had and they took some time to accept lower payments but I stuck to my guns and they accepted, then last month I had a really nice letter - no genuinely! from a debt collection agency they had passed it on to. The Agency said please dont worry keep making your payments you have arranged in the way you have until we come up for renewal.

We shall see what tehy are like at renewal though!
  • I wouldn't ring them back unless they could give me a non 0870 number. All these companys must have them, they just want to rip us off a little more!

On a high note, i just sold some GHD hair things on ebay for £55. An ex left them ages ago.

Yeah I find it ironic that the Mint website says if you are experiencing financial difficulties, please ring this 0870 premium rate number so we can help!!!!
